just got back from a 5 day trip up north:
Day 1 - drive drive drive, stayed with friends in Woodside, was amused that i was in Woodside, looked for something for Angela, didn't find anything good
Day 2 - estanfor, 3 tours, each better than the previous (the first one was pretty bad, some crazy lady showing us around the campus' church), Korean BBQ for dinner in Paolo Alto (yummm)
Day 3 - drive to Berkeley, see campus, figure out that "Cal" is what pretty much the rest of the world calls what i call Berkeley, drove to San Francisco, spent a bazillion hours in Saks, walking around all of all 6 floors, then watching the Chinese New Years Parade from the 5th (top) floor (one floor was underground), Japanese food for dinner (yummm)
Day 4 - drove through Haight-Ashbury and surrounding neighborhood; had clam chowder in a bread bowl at Boudin's on Fisherman's Wharf (...although it was Pier 39, that still counts, right?) (yummm); saw cousins on beach in Aptos with new baby second cousin (the cuteness), drove in dark, took wrong turns, eventually made it to the Paso Robles Inn and sat down for dinner in their resteraunt 5 minutes before they closed (if y'all are out there, thank you again), had steak (yummm)
Day 5 - Momma gets sick, drive drive, home again, home again jiggity-jig
so all in all i learned radio stations in different counties with similar themes are around the same frequency (ex classic rock, 104.5>104.7>104.7>95.7>95.5), i can dig country music if necessary, starbucks has taken over the state (probably the country), but that's ok because they sell good music, i like hanging out with frat boys in the daytime (but i'm not about to try nighttime), our state abounds with good food, but half of the state, the middle section, smells terrible unless you're right on the coast
