on a side note, there is a ridiculous amount of paperwork in applying for teaching positions. Most of the applications i've seen average about 6 pages, and i have to submit all my transcripts, license, test scores, and have recommendation forms sent from my references. the more time goes by, the more likely these references are likely to think, who was this guy again?
frankly, the human resources system for finding a job is really antagonistic to my personality. it's really frustrating. anyone who has talked to me at length knows that i'm a lot less impressed with myself than some others seem to be, and now i'm supposed to be "selling myself", writing cover letters and as you said, pushing my resume? i also suck at networking so the whole system, to me, becomes a serious pain in the ass.

you worked call center tech support with degrees in comp sci and physics. now you're talking about selling shoes for the next several years with a teaching cert? that's not just a disservice to yourself, that's a disservice to everyone around you. don't let your education go to waste. there's a desperate shortage of intelligence going around.
