I CANNOT return from the most awesome concert of my life and NOT write about it, so here goes.

I got my tickets for Tegan and Sara's show tonight at First Church in Boston... four months ago, or whenever they came out on pre-sale, the day they did, anyway. So I've had them a while. I invited my friend Laura along, and we took the train from Providence to Boston and then took two subways to get to where the church was.

We at lunch at this fancy place called the Globe Bar and Cafe', where I had the most delicious panino of my LIFE except for those in Italy :D Then we walked over to the church. We were the sixth and seventh people to get there, which was awesome, and I trekked to Starbucks to change and randomly met five girls who were Italian, so started chattering away with them. When I got back to the church Laura and I moved to the front by the door so we'd be close to the front in line, and we sat next to this girl who seemed to be alone. Then a couple of her friends showed up, and we shared our french fries with them, so of course, instant friends XD We hung out and waited for the doors to open.

When they did, at six, we walked in and RIGHT TO THE FRONT. We probably had the best seats in the house, three feet from Tegan and five feet from Sara, in the FRONT ROW. I can't even ..fathom. I've NEVER been in the front in a concert before, and this was a seated one! We put our stuff down and took pictures for an hour, and then promptly at 7 tegan and sara came out on stage! I was expecting an opening band and hours of waiting, but when they came out, it wasn't even dark yet and they didn't have an opening band, and started right away.

Sara was adorable and friendly, and she talked a mile a minute between every song. I can't believe how much she talked, actually. I was surprised. She talked for about five minutes between each song, with Tegan tapping her foot and looking on. The songs sounded GREAT, they played the entire album from track 14 backwards to track 1, and then they played favorites from So Jealous and If It Was You, plus When I Get Up during the encore. Both of them were really sweet and talked a lot, and Tegan played us a bit of 'House of the Rising Sun' which apparently is the only song she knows on piano besides the parts in Sara's songs that she plays. (She studied piano for 8 years, but claims to remember none of it!)

They also played a great encore and both tegan and sara talked about 'connecting' with the audience, which was nice. for most of the concert it was light outside, and we could see them and they could see us, which was awesome.

Afterwards, a bunch of us waited around for tegan or sara to come out, and surprisingly, about ten minutes after we got out of the church tegan came out! she patiently signed autographs and took pictures and was friendly and kind to everyone and generally was just a really amazing person, so we all thanked her and took pictures and even got hugs!

Then we walked to get food, ended up at Ben and Jerry's, met another girl named Kim who I think we successfully converted to T and S, and then mi madre picked Laura and me up and we drove home.

Best. Concert. Ever. :D

Me with Tegan's guitar pick XD
