Harper was as happy as a clam, which was unusual, to say the least. She certainly caught dear Uncle Claude's minor outburst as the curtain went down for intermission, spotting her mother, Greta, attempt to calm him down. Fletcher set down his cup of crappy, lukewarm coffee by a fake plant and wandered oh-so suavely over to Harper. He had been watching her for a few minutes, waiting for a lull in her constant admirers and -- bam, timed it perfectly.

"Intense play you wrote there, little girl," he said, smiling -- okay, it was a little like a leer, but it was nice! Kind of! I promise! -- while holding out a half dozen red roses.

"Thanks," Harper said politely. His face wasn't exactly one she wanted to see, but at least she had the satisfaction of knowing that he ... attended and had an opinion on it.

Harper held back a sigh and took the flowers, appearing gracious now. "It wasn't meant to sound cold. But, thank you," she amended.

"Him and his asshole brother. I don't want to embarrass them, so I won't hang around." It wasn't as if talking to Harper for too long made Fletcher all-too aware of his severe lack of chances with her, too. And he had to go back to the office.

Harper wasn't sure if she should laugh or feel angry or what. Owen Waterhouse and violent tendencies didn't mesh, usually.

"Well. Thanks for coming," she said quietly, offering a small smile.
