I tried to cheer up my emo-angsty self by marathoning 6 eps of Nice Guy, which, counter-intuitively worked.

I love the cast and I also like the clothes and makeup. Well, I like Seo Eun Ki's clothing (she's so chic!) and I enjoy lol-ing at Han Jae Hee. There was the dress with the satin roses at the neckline and the grafitti on the bodice that actually made me gasp in horror. Although Park Shi Yeon seems to be pregnant so I guess that she will just wear giant coats and billowing tunics from now on (they don't seem to be planning to work it into the story line).

Melos are not usually for me but for some reason I feel like I can enjoy this one.

I also watched a bunch of new anime. Listed in order of preference

1. Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!! (Chuunibyou is "8th grade syndrome;" the title basically translates as "I'm a delusional jerk but I still want a date") It's about a guy who used to be something of an immature otaku idiot in junior high but now he's in high school, he wants to be normal and have a girlfriend. It's a bit like the Haruhi anime, but played for laughs. Anyway, it definitely made me LOL, plus it has cool fantasy sequences and the heroine is both impossibly annoying and extremely cute. Oh, and the artwork/character design is consistently good.

2. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (The Monster Next to Me) Also set in high school! But this one is about a girl who is serious about studying and getting into university becoming involved with the student who's assigned to sit next to her, but who never comes to school. He's a genius who learns everything easily but has a rotten personality and absolutely no concept of social relationships. I'm dubious of any rl potential in this sort of relationship but it's very funny. Again, the art is good.

3. Sukitte ii na yo (Say you love me) Yes this one is about high school too. In fact, the 4th one involves high school as well. I will have to check and see if I can find any current anime that aren't. Aaand, it's also about a couple that has social problems and growing pains! In this case, it's the girl who isn't popular and is a loner, and the good-looking popular guy who decides he likes her and starts going out with her. But he, surprise surprise, has emotional issues of his own. Kind of conventional-looking but with adorable kitties.

4. Kami-sama Hajimemashita (Kamisama Kiss). OK actually this is not so much about high school, although the main character seems to be high school age. Nanami accidentally takes on the duties of being the local earth deity after being kicked out of her house after her father reneges on his gambling debts and abandons her. But to make up for it, she gets to live in a temple with a bunch of adorable youkai, including a sexy fox demon named Tomoe. It's very cute, but the art looks cheap so it's not that fun to watch. I like anime about folk tales and gods and demons though.

I also watched the first two eps of Can We Get Married, which stars the adorable girl from Playful Kiss (Jung So Min) and the supercool dude from Shut Up Flower Boy Band (Sung Joon), the sex-on-a-stick male model who was in Love Rain (Kim Young Kwang) and my favorite older actress, Lee Mi Sook (who was also in Love Rain) as well as a bunch of other good-looking actors. It's about two young lovers who want to get married but have some social obstacles, their friends and family, and all the complications that arise. It's not at all heart-warming, but it is very cute and sexy. Looking forward to more.
