I'm so excited! I bought a ticket to see Jin Akanishi in NY today. And it was dead easy, although I panicked for a moment when I found out the NY tickets weren't on ticketmaster/livenation. But after a frantic tweet to
becroberts , I went to the jinakanishi.us site and followed the links to the annoying all american tickets site or whatever it's called (the one that's in nihongo/engrish) and successfully purchased them there. Though I had to check "will call" for tickets because I didn't feel like paying $15 for fedex and somehow the $5 regular mail option disappeared between the front page and the actual order page. I was too nervous to try and go back and find it.
So, yay! This should be fun. Anyone who's coming to NYC for this, let me know, I've lived here for a long time and am good at finding things and helping travellers. I have the Virgo tour-guide gene for sure.
I feel jumpy not just because I'm excited about the concert (though of course I AM) but I also started taking my asthma medication again after a long time of not and I am totally HYPED UP as a side effect (this is a normal side effect, unfortunately). So my hands are shaking and my brain feels like it's vibrating and I'm definitely kind of hypomanic. It's so weird to be here at the library where everything is so calm, while I am buzzing like an overrevving engine. At least I get to go home soon, where I can have a glass of wine and chill out.
Still, as annoying as this shaky manicness is, it's preferable to not being able to breathe!
