I feel so accomplished! I have craigs-listed an old TV (in the free section) and freecycled an old fax machine. Both have been sitting around gathering dust and taking up space for an embarrassingly long time.
Next I'm going to give away a bunch of old sheets and pillowcases. Though, honestly, maybe half of them should just go straight to textile recycling. But at the moment it's too much for me to deal with taking everything there. If I can give the nicer stuff to a good home and then take the old musty yucky stuff to the textile recycling at the farmers' market, I will feel even better about all this! And then I can really make inroads on our messy house. Which involves opening all of the boxes in Tom's play area which have been sitting there since we moved in (ACK).
I also put a broken fan and broken halogen lamp in the Saturday morning large item garbage pickup, but those things were BROKEN. I feel less guilty about them because I gave away the other items instead of putting them on the curb.
My goal is to clear enough stuff out of the dressing room so that it can once again serve as a little exercise area. I hope that will not take another 4 years :-( And also to put together or give away the industrial shelving we have from our last place. Because it's just stupid to have it sitting around in pieces.
In terms of clearing up the drama backlog, I have watched You're Beautiful and Autumn's Concerto (which is what "Next Stop Happiness" is REALLY called in case you were having trouble finding it) and found and dl'd the first ep of IRIS with subs and, also, am now all caught up with Dollhouse, including the dvd-only 13th ep from last year.
I also watched Tokyo DOGS and think it can only improve ;-) I don't like jokey police dramas because I think shooting people should be srs bzns (and also, Narimiya Hiroki-san, if you put a Colt Magnum to your head and pull the trigger, you are not going to fall over gracefully with a faint pensive smile on your exquisite lips, your head is going to DISAPPEAR, as in explode, or vaporize. So, ew.)
However, I can see that Oguri is going to end up being really funny, I think, with his characterization. And Mizushima Hiro is already funny. And 3rd wheel guy is the guy who was the almost-sexy romantic interest in Cat Street. Oh what a difference a role change makes!
