Mark's been worried about Delta since he saw him off. He doesn't want to burden Delta with questions that won't get answered. Jack's been largely radio silent, Stango and Lamb otherwise occupied. (Not that he'd speak to Lamb about Delta anyway. Regardless of what he might think of her, Delta's opinion is clear.)
So, without any other obvious sources of information, he's been forced to get creative.
He replaces a wire in the back of his now-mangled comm device, flips a switch, and Delta's text scrolls across the screen.
Hacking is easy if you think of it as a puzzle.
