Week 1
Nietchze was interesting to read and to think about the value of value judgements. It is a strange topic becasue a value judgement is based on value which he is question in the first place. And if you are question value how can you question the value of value. I personally do not agree with this line of thinking because I believe that there are certain good and evils in this world. I do not believe that mankinds views of good and evil have developed like our langues in that good and evil were assigned to certain things because of social influences. I believe that there are certain things in this world that are good and certain things in this world that are bad and they are that way no matter what.
For instances the crime of murder is considered and evil in the world today. According to Neitchze this has been declared and evil but could have just as easily been declared a good. This is not true, it is an evil. The Aztecs of the ancient world used to commit human sacrifies often and in a horrible fashion. This was an evil even though their society choose it not to be. Adolf Hitlers holocaust was an evil even though he preached it as being a justice.
The saving of human lives and the pursuit of happiness are not evils they are goods. And mankind has developed to the point where it knows this. As man learns more and discovers more about his world he will see things that are evil being done in the world today and fix them.
