Ryan my handyman

overnight one night last week I had a brilliant idea. The kids are always making a mess in their room and they hate cleaning up, and I think it's because while everything has its place its all organized with little tubs and drawers and fine sections of stuff. So I decided if they had a huge toy chest that they could throw things in maybe I'd get them to clean up!  I woke up with this need to make this chest. Ryan being the fantastic hubby he is used his day off to head to his old shop and built exactly what I dreamed. He used left over wood so it only cost the hinges on the lid! it is unfinished so we need to paint it, but that can wait till it stops raining.

Jesse (my little brother) drove my folks van up to the shop to help Ryan haul this big toy chest home.

the kids were excited and hopped in the van to check it out.

Ryan and Jesse hauling it in the house

and into the kids room it goes

the kids each staked out a side and hid (though Darci wouldn't close her lid)

then because he was over Jesse couldn't resist playing with Isis, he wants a snake pretty badly.

then I worked to make new curtains for the kids room and I'm working on cushions for the toy chest.

the chest is unfinished so we are going to paint it white and then I was going to paint a picture to match the fabric, a sun peeking out from the cloud on one side and the rainbow on the other side.
