Okay, so I was going to rec a bunch of fics at
kaesa, then I realized that I might as well make a recpost to share with everyone who might be interested!
Doctor Who
lindenharp:
Morituri. Spoilers for End of Time. Short, and totally changed the way I saw a scene. Very, very nice.
bad_remedy:
An Enmity for the Ages. Donna vs Nerys. Spoilers for End of Time. I'd call it a must-read, because it brings the lulz. (Also,
dramaturgy and
kaesa, this author has also written Gunnerkrigg and Girl Genius fic. I'll read and report back, but !!!)
Torchwood
itinerant_vae:
(Not Quite a) Grandfather Paradox. Written for
10_cliche_fics, which I only say so that when I tell you that the main pairing is Jack/Jack, you'll understand why. Basically AWESOME, set during S1, I think, so no spoilers that I noticed.
Heroes
ever_obsessed:
come around. AU from S2, Adam/Peter. It's the style that caught me on this one, and a darker characterization of Peter that's still dead-on. Worth a read.
Supernatural
harrigan:
Kung Fu and the Zombie Apocalypse. Stanford-era, pre-series obviously. Dean POV. I am very picky about Dean characterization and this fic is soaked in it, beautifully, you can even see the faces Jensen Ackles would be making. Funny, sweet, bittersweet, I can't believe I'm reccing this. I blame
dramaturgy, she made me soft.
thoughts_artist:
Let the Thoughts In. Spoilers for S5, up to 5x10 I'd say. One way that this whole thing could end. Anything more I'd say would spoil it, and I swear, this ending was like a punch in the gut. A good punch. A must-read.
pdragon76:
I Am Oak, I Am Tree. Jo/Dean. Spoilers for 5x10. Jo in all of her sharp, hunter glory, this pairing played as it really should be, with a twist. A+.
blackmamba_esq:
Embers. Pamela Barnes fic. I've been waiting for the fandom to come out with something like this for a LONG time. Spoilers for S4, obviously. This fic digs deep into Pamela, shows her at her weakest and her strongest, all with the same voice of smooth, cynical charm we love her for.
chibifrieza:
Good Enough. Gen, Winchesters. The best way to describe this fic would be snapshots from various, random parts of their lives, crisp, stark, pragmatic, absurd little snapshots that show you that not much has changed for the boys over the years. It's a great piece, only slightly over 600 words and I see something new in it each reread.
I have lots of fic plans myself, it mostly all leans on the necessity of FINISHING the one fic that I've been writing for months now so I can get to it. I will try not to spam. I'm considering having a separate fic journal, but then this journal might not ever get used. *facepalm*
Next on this journal: A post on the politics and policy of healthcare reform legislation as it's played out so far. I plan on getting this done before they pass the damn thing finally, because it's been percolating up here a while. But now I need to shut up, so adieu!
