So it is Madrigal Dinner season, which leads to the rather depressing practice of learning Christmas music and singing about cold winter breezes in August. Also, you have to tolerate singing the same ten pieces over and over again for weeks on end... so you find ways to deal. Such as horrible puns.
Anyway. We're doing a Weelkes madrigal that we did last year. On top of that -- Weelkes madrigals are... predictable. So I was bored. Anyway, they have lots of fa-la-la-la-la-la-las.
Slightly cracked and bored after all the fa-la-la-la-las, I turned to Tracy, a fellow second soprano, and this came out of my mouth: "Fa-la is, like, the Renaissance holla."
Just. XD.
