He didn't know how to feel - he didn't know if he could feel. He thought that this year would be different, would be better, but instead it all just turned out to be a big load of poppycock. Instead, he lost everything he ever had within the span of a couple of seconds and thin, flimsy sheet.

Oh, how he loathed that sheet. Well, he guesses it wasn't an actual sheet. He could hear mumbling coming from behind him, and wasn't that weird, saying it was called a veil. He was still going to call it a damn sheet though.

And it was that damn sheet that took away his life - that took him away from his life. And wasn't that just hilarious. He turns his head slightly, can hear screaming.

He isn't surprised to see his god-son, eyes wide, mouth open. Isn't surprised at all, but he is definitely bummed. He planned on being there, planned on being a god-father, planned on making James, Lily, and most importantly, Harry, proud.

Except - except everything Sirius ever hoped he could do with his god-son was now gone, and all because of a mistake on his part.

He flinches, but realizes he can't do anything like that because of the damn sheet - it's stopped him from making any sort of emotion, almost like it's frozen him in time.

He looks one more time, watches his god-son's features before he notices one thing.

Everything is shattered, and nothing has remained the same as it was before.
