This story started, for me, more than a year ago, when I was watching reruns of Hell's Kitchen on my iPod. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like for our resident J's, which then got me thinking, what dishes would they cook? What teams would they be with? Would they be good? Would they fall in love quickly, but be hesitant?
As a person, I love to cook. Every dish I mentioned in here, I tried. Yes, even the one with the awful cheese (why do you think I said there was so little of it?). I first started out with a shitload of
extensive research, which took me forever. I marked down foods I thought would be good, foods I thought would be used for bad dishes, and foods that could be used for certain challenges. After that, I wrote down every challenge in all the seasons of HK, the prizes and what the losers got, the winners/losers, and then what happened at the dinner service.
It took me two full months just to get through that, but damn was it worth it. By that time, I had a vague idea of what was going to happen, and I instantly started typing my story. I went through writing the first chapter about, three different times before I found one I truly liked, and then, once continued, decided to make J2 into each other, but more focused onto the whole game, and not a whole lot on their developing relationship.
I realize that that might've been a mistake, but it was worth everything. I hope you enjoyed the story, and thanks for reading. :)
I truly want to thank everyone who has helped me in this process, everyone else in the process, and put the time into making all of this possible (yes, I'm talking to you, big bang mods!).
Personally, I want to thank the following people, though.
+Franziska, the wonderful beta who found me through
tumblr. It truly bugs me that I wasn't able to have a more thorough discussion with you over my story, and the notes you gave me, because I truly took them to heart, added, deleted and followed many of the suggestions you gave me. Everything you sent was amazing, and I'm so glad you took the time to read this monster, and was actually able to edit it without pulling out and tearing your hair up. So, thank you for being so amazing.
+Julie, my artist. Without her, I think this story would have been quite lackluster in color. She did all of the images so well, and I absolutely love them so much. Go give her journal a look
here, because everything is just amazing. I enjoyed working with youm and while you may not work as an artist again, I do hope we'll work with one another again at one point. :)
+My Mom, because without her being so damn gullible, I would not be able to post this thing today. So thanks mom!
+The Mods, because shit, y'all are fucking amazing. Thanks to y'all for being so god damn committed. :)
