We got it!

B and I have been looking for apartments and houses to rent for quite some time now. Well I am glad to announce that we have signed and paid for a rental home in patterson park! It's a nice two bedroom place with a semi finished basement. It really coulda been listed as a 3 bedroom, since it's so big, but whatever. We also have the option of renting to own as well if we like it that much. It's got no back yard to speak of, but there's a lot of space in the home to work with. If I remember correctly, the dimentions of the house are 13 x 75, it's one of those townhomes that just stretches and stretches.

We will be getting the keys this weekend and then probably doing a full move in after xmas. It's so exciting!

It's kinda strange, ut since we decided on this house, B and I have been making a lot of executive decisions. I dont know where its coming from, but whenever something has struck us we sit down and hash out the details of it. So far we've decided that we want the wedding reception to be fun and food oriented. Mostly on the food. So we're thinking of having catered bbq for the food, pies from Dangerously delicious (it is afterall the pie of love) and we are going to have the reception over at B's parents home. It's a good consideration since they have 3 acres of land to use so we can set up anywhere. B's dad will be generously donating booze. (it's good to have a FIL that owns a liquor store!) We'll have to see about renting a tent, chairs and tables, but I'm hoping that the caterer that we use is able to be a one-stop-shop for us.

More surprising is that we sat down and talked turkey about our budget and how we are splitting up the bills. Looking at our income, we collectively make at least 100k a year. So I think we can save up from now til late june and be able to almost afford the wedding just from our savings flat out. I'm letting B handle all of the finance stuff sine quite frankly I suck at it and hate having to deal with it. Ok correction I dont suck at it, I just hate having to deal with it. I'm happiest knowing whats going on and having B tell me what I ahve to pay.

Just thinking about that, that is the typical way how vietnamese families have been doing things financially. The wife is the director of finance and all things domestic, while the husband deals with all things foreign. Funny how things like this are just coming out unplanned.

Now I'm looking over the pricing for big phat HDtvs. I saw a nice deal for a 52" screen for 1400. It's so tempting to get that, the other ones that are 46" are about 1000, for an extra 6 " it's and extra 400. grr. B is being really open about whatever on this, specially since she wants to do a Lord of the rings 12 hours marathon on it to christen it. Haha this is one of the reasons why I love her. She lets me buy what my impulses tell me. I think that she knows that I spend a bit of time researching what I need to know before comitting and I wont overreach my boundaries.

Speaking of boundaries and spending. When we went to the renfair, I splurged and ordered a set of boots from http://www.catskill-moc.com/ I nearly had an aneurysm when I looked at the sticker price for the boots that I ordered, but for boots that I've been coveting since 15, it was worth it. Esp if i continue to play darkon for another 15 years.

Anyhow got to finish notes and then off to the gym.
