ok, what is with the sudden DS9 resurgence? this is like the 3rd post i've seen this week. is the show even good? i read some garak/bashir in a fit of procrastination and it was strangely mesmerising (except for the 99% badfic quota), but have never actually seen the show.

no, it's not really all that good! it has all the usual star trek racist/imperialist/colonialist problems! okay, but sometimes not as much and then sometimes it's okay. but anyway I occasionally find myself oddly mesmerized, because I watched it when I was a young impressionable teenager.

garak/bashir is an amazing fic pairing, though. it's all like, about how garak is forced to torture bashir for information! but he loves him! it's great.

i have always interpreted that song as being about getting sex and/or drugs from your friends...but the "somebody to love" always made me think of serial friend-sluttiness, not an orgy.

I ALWAYS 'SHIPPED KIRA/DUKAT WHEN I WATCHED THE SHOW (I STOPPED A FEW SEASONS BEFORE THE END). GARAK/BASHIR TTLY ALSO THO, YES. ALTHO I THINK I LIKED BASHIR/O'BRIEN MORE. THEY WERE SUCH AN OLD MARRIED COUPLE.

wow, Kira/Dukat is like, enemies fic taken to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. BUT I can totally see it. Bashir/O'Brien are also awesome! But I always sort of liked Miles and Keiko, too, so wasn't as into that.

Your second question is too hard. The 2nd half of season one made me start shipping Jadzia/Kira. (I've only seen one ep with Garak, so I have no shipping urges there...yet.) Odo/Quark...they need to share an apartment in New York and have wacky hijinks.

Oh man, that episode where like evil aliens, or possibly an evil alien library, takes everyone over and stages a mutiny? And then Kira sort of leans in close to Jadzia and seduces her into joining the coup? ROWR. And then also they are like BFF all the time and even get to have conversations that aren't about men or doing their hair (they have this one conversation in S2 about killing people that I LOVE) and oh I do wish there were fic for them.

Odo/Quark/Apartment in New York would be great. I await that AU.

OH YES. That was the episode that opened my eyes to the awesomeness of Jadzia/Kira.

Also, I'm starting to wonder if this show is really all about the Epic (And Amusing) Love of Odo/Quark.

haha, I totally get that. Dukat brings the sex to every single conversation he has with anyone, and also sometimes to his relationship with inanimate objects.
