The mob isn’t really all that angry - in fact, they only seem to be mobbing because it’s expected of them - so the two of them don’t have to run for long.
A halfhearted mob:D There are a heap of funny moments so far in this but you've mixed it so well with the slow angsty building of john and rodney's relationship.
You're painting a picture of *Atlantis* and all the people in it, it's a real treat.
“You want to get your hands on me?” John asks, trying for an accusatory tone and failing, failing. His fingertips smooth against the soft skin below Rodney’s palm.
Rodney doesn’t say anything for a long time, his eyes on John’s fingers where they encircle his wrist. When he speaks, his voice breaks on a single word. “Yes.”
I literally gasped. Awesome. <3 And I love love LOVE the Teyla/Kate. Thank you for writing good femslash!
Oh, thank you! Yeah, there's a reason that John and Rodney get both metonym and synecdoche...the sections are similar, but with important differences. Glad you liked it!

Okay, the entire end, the entire end, I was holding my breath. For reals, gosh.

Also, I always get confused between metonym and synecdoche. You did a good job differentiating them.
