post-VVC? idk this post is really boring to me now.

friends, I keep trying to make a post-VVC report, and then I'm just too exhausted by the idea of the whole thing to do it. And then I'm like, "obviously I cannot make any posts until I have made a post-VVC post!" and thus no posts are posted. This is, like, how I always am - I tend to monotask, and feel like I can't do Y until I've done X even if Y does not in fact rely on X.

So, here's a post. It's not really my post-VVC post, but I do want to make one of those with vid reviews and stuff. Eventually. Especially because there are vids I want to squee about and vids I really really did not like and because I have extensive notes from
deepad's fabulous Vidding as Choreography panel and I think some people might be into reading about that, since it was so great. In fact I think that panel was the programming highlight of the con for me.

Anyway, but, this is not my VVC report.

But I will report on some things surrounding VVC: amazing people I saw at VVC etc., the Wisconsin State Fair, Adam Lambert, and vids I am making. In order:

1) I met so many amazing people, some for the first time and some for the many-th time! VVC is a really cliquey place, and last year I felt a bit isolated and weird only knowing two people, so it was nice this year to, I guess, have enough people around me I knew and who wanted to hang out with me to make a clique I could belong to. It helps when you ship in your own giant van of fans. Anyway, I got to hang out with so many cool people, and I love them all a lot, and they know who they are. ♥ I miss very many of you (those who are not currently in my living room with me) an awful lot, and wish I could have you around all the time.

2) After VVC, some of us went to the State Fair in Wisconsin! This was an amazing experience okay. We saw PIG RACING. It was basically the greatest and most American thing I have seen in all my years of living in or near America. Also there were other good things: deep fried macaroni and cheese on a stick, deep fried pickles, deep fried smores on a stick (though I actually didn't eat any of those), and other deep fried foods as well. I feel like all foods eaten at the fair should either be deep fried or on a stick or both. I had a blast on the rollercoaster and the tiltawhirl and the other rides that go fast or up or down or around (but not upside down). FAIRS. They're great. The Wisconsin State one also had an AMAAAAZING display of judged stuff: prize-winning cakes and pies and cookies and quilts and baby clothes and table settings and flower arrangements and flowers and VEGETABLES, okay, look, the vegetable judging is one of my favourite things at the fair, it's so fabulous. I saw some motherfucking eggplants like you wouldn't believe. Also at the fair we watched some horse events (yay barrel-racing!) and pet a bunch of puppies (puppies!) and this was all a very good time.

3) After the state fair, eruthros and anatsuno and toft and I drove back, and we stopped randomly (seriously, randomly) in Eerie PA to get some kind of food, and we drove down this one street and we saw . . . Adam Lambert? Adam Lambert was there doing a show. We were like, WTF? Adam Lambert? Why do you follow us everywhere? None of us were even Adam Lambert fans at all, so. It was weird. Anyway we took some pictures of the vans and entourage and the sign and stuff because we loled so hard. He was probably on stage while we were there, but, anyway, we found the whole thing surreal.

4) I am right now making this kink bingo vid, right, and I think it will be cute and it is fun to make, but now I am also thinking about making a premiere for Wiscon next year. (Wiscon friends, please do not get too excited, as I am terrible with deadlines and also with finishing things). This is a vid that used to be a multivid in my head and now is just a BSG vid, and I think it would be a really good and emotional vid for me to make, but the idea of refamiliarizing myself with BSG (and with its visual canon, which I never really paid attention to as a vidder) is a bit overwhelming. Anyway. I'm making a happy upbeat kink vid (for "domestic/tradesman") while thinking about this other upsetting and political vid, and my wires keep getting crossed.

That was a kind of boring post; I don't know what to say. I will try to make a more interesting post about VVC and vids and panels in the near future.
