Sitting in the Gallery, just finished a bottle of Ubuntu, making steady progress through yet another packet of bourbons.
I also told myself I'd stop spending money on food, which is a bit fail.
For someone who doesn't start until 3pm, I have such busy (I just typed "bust"- hello Sigmund! I see you're back for good!) Mondays. I'm supposed to do a report on the lecture in my seminar on Thursday, and for all my forward planning, I still didn't make it there on time. Fail! Still, I pegged it tho, and I was only four minutes late. Didn't miss much.
Did some work in the Gallery afterwards and stayed for the Forge meetings. I've got a Screen piece this issue, 300 words on a "lost film". I think I'm gonna do Dark City or Innocence. I wanted to do a review of a new horror film, I think it's called Hush, or something, but someone else got in before me. And I've given up on music reviews. If I'm not really into it, it just becomes blatantly obvious that I know fuck all about music.
Tho that said, I'm gonna mention something about reviewing IAMX, or maybe Deathstars at Corp. I know they're a while away, but if I review, I'll get a free ticket. I think. Plus, if I'm reviewing, I won't drink, which saves me from the never-advisable situation of being pissed in Corp.
Anyway, I stayed for the editor's meeting as well, because I'm thinking of applying to be an editor next year. News is probably too much work for a third-year, plus, I've never actually written a News piece, but Comment or Screen would be perfect. Only problem is, I haven't actually written that much for the paper, so I'm not entirely sure of my way round it. But I am planning to write much more this semester, so I'll have a better hang of it. I need all the experience I can get if I'm gonna try and find journalism work when I've left uni.
So that's just finished, and it turns out that the USLES rehearsal isn't till 8. I don't even know why I'm bothering, because I'm not even in the first half, but I have nothing else to do. Maybe I'll see if I can leave early.
Chris called me earlier and said he's got a few free tickets to Population, so he's asked if I want to come. So tonight I party with, I think, him, Ty, Kieran, Rob Rob and Mary. I said I'd meet them in Bar One at 9, but that was before I got the ridiculously late USLES email. I'll have to call him.
He's running for Finance Officer next year too. Is it wrong to vote for your friends just because they're your friends?
Still half an hour to go. I have some work with me, but I know it's not gonna happen.
I need to facebook Steve.
