And I NEED NEED NEED to update. People are starting to forget that I ever wrote at all, I think. The Femme Boosh is falling into disrepair already, and I keep saying that I'll do it, and I never do.
I got a review yesterday, for Dead Man Walking. It's kind of spurring me on.
I keep doing memes. I do them late. But there's no point not posting if they're done.
What's one song you're always in the mood to hear?
I’m not sure that there actually is anything- the mood I’m in to listen to a song is pretty much a microcosm, so I’ll get urges to listen to a particular song or band that could last weeks, or they could last minutes. I really don’t think there’s anything that I’ll always want to listen to.
Which trends do you hate?
I’m ambivalent about trends. Other people can follow them if they want- I don’t give two hoots. Tho I will admit to getting very worried that people will think I follow the glammish looks-like-Fielding-but-without-the-genderqueer trend. Which may be one reason why I fashiongasm over flares twice as wide as my head.
Any urban myths you believe in?
Not generally, no. Superstitions, yes, but not urban myths.
What music is good to listen to when you're angry?
The Cooper Temple Clause are brilliant. And Suede. Rammstein XD Ozzy. Some Placebo, and Morrissey. The Lost Boys soundtrack. Tho half the time I’ll just raid youtube and see what comes up.
Do you own any concert DVDS?
ZIGGY STARDUST. Which you should own. By law. I humped the bed all the way through it.
My dad has The Cure’s Trilogy, a Placebo one, and a shedload of others. But Ziggy is mine.
How many dogs do you have?
None. My parents aren’t dog people. And I don’t think I’d want one either- I couldn’t bring myself to buy meat for them, but unless they’ve got some kind of dietary problem, it’s not natural to feed them anything else. We don’t have any pets right now. Tho in Sheffield, my housemates Helen and Ellis have a rabbit named Toby. He’s cute XD
Favourite chocolate?
I can only eat dairy-free now, which cuts it down a lot. I don’t really mind which kind. I like mint chocolate. Tho I’ve been having urges for Cadbury’s Caramel for ages. And I used to have a bizarre addiction to their Turkish Delight as well. And my all-time favourite was always Crème Eggs. I miss those things.
Phobias?
I’m quite badly arachnophobic. I blame my dad. Other than that I don’t have any real phobias. Tho after reading something on someone’s profile, that weirded-out feeling I had about turning 20 has since turned into ABSOLUTE FUCKING TERROR.
Do you like anything unusual?
Fucking look at me- I’m made of unusual. A lot of people I know think liking the Boosh is unusual. I like gin. I like crossdressing. I like lager, which a lot of people also think is unusual for a female. I like dressing up in full Frank N. Furter costume. I’m also a pyromaniac. But isn’t everyone?
Do you have many friends?
O yeah- I lived in a house of 24 last year, and we all got on really well. We live in different houses now, but we still all go out together a lot. And then there’s the gospel choir, and USLES- I’ve got my head in so many societies, I can’t help meeting great people.
What pyjamas do you wear?
All the one’s my parents got me for ChristmasXD Long ones, short ones (tho I don’t wear those in Sheffield in winter- you wake up shivering if you do), cute ones, sexy ones, obscenely short nighties… it’s a real collection.
Any friends far away?
Living in two places, you can’t avoid that. My uni friends are all over the country, from Manchester to Cornwall. And I think one of them’s in Australia right now. And my friends from the ‘Wood are all over the country when I’m in Sheffield. Tho a lot of them stayed local, but they’re still far from me. And then there’s you guys- all over the country and beyond.
What's a band you've always been interested in, but haven't gotten into yet?
I can’t say I’ve always been interested in them, it’s more just the last year or so, but I’m still not into RiD or IAMX. I’m gonna ask for a RiD album for my birthday, since I forgot to ask for one for Christmas, but IAMX seems to have disappeared from the face of the Earth. I think I’ve seen an album in a shop once. I need to listen to more Kate Bush too. And Tori Amos.
What makes you laugh?

A lot of things. Scientific things. Things I used to know. And then, I don’t understand homophobia. It’s love. I love a woman, how does this make me any worse as a person? I don’t understand war. Or why the population, in most cases doesn’t just say no, because if we were called to war and we all just turned away as one, no one would be able to force us. And another thing I don’t understand- the Israeli president- “We’re sorry that the Hamas use human shields. We’re sorry that the Hamas force us into the position they do. We’re sorry that the Hamas operate from inside Red Cross buildings. Whether we realised it would happen or not, we’re not sorry we blew up thirty civilians.” Even if he didn’t realise what could have happened, he could have taken some fucking responsibility.

I don’t, generally, but even if I did, I would be pro the ban in public places. Because a child, a pregnant woman, a person with a respiratory disease, a trumpeter at a jazz club, should be able to go into a public place and not worry about the fucking air they’re breathing. Tho I do think there should be smoking rooms, with closed windows and doors, so that smokers can smoke without having to go outside if it’s cold. I say I don’t smoke, but I do have a slight fondness for Hamlet Miniatures.

I really should be glad about it, because the lake in Crookes Valley Park is apparently the kind of place where you have to dodge the turds. What confuses me is that this is when Phantom Baby was still around, so I was stone cold sober at the time.

I like my lifestyle- the life of an ever-procrastinating student having her first taste of real independence, in an environment where there are a lot of people as weird and eccentric as she is. Really. As long as I get to lectures and do (enough of) my reading every week, I can live exactly as I want to, I can be a member of a choir who have done backing vocals for Bryan Adams, I can act in dirty pantomimes, I can go clubbing up to seven nights a week, I can drink more than I’m supposed to- I don’t really want to have to change.
What's your favourite kind of junk food?
being vegan rules a lot of that out, lol. So with that in mind, it has to be CHIPS. Big fat chippie chips, in BUTTIES. I also like onion rings. Tho not quite so much.
