You know when you try and make up for lack of sleep by having 12 and a half hours continuously? Never try and do that two days before you have an essay due, especially after getting in at 4 in the morning.
Still, at least this one's only 1500 words instead of 2000, and I know what I'm gonna do it on now- I'm gonna discuss Freud's theory of dream ( Read more... )

I saw Twelfth Night at the uni drama studio on Thursday, because Ben and Glenn (hee) from the panto, as well as Ste and Hannah and Mark from my Practical Drama class last year were all in it. And it was brilliant! The guy playing Malvolio was an absolute legend! He had us in stitches! Mark was fabulous as Andrew Aguecheek as well- he went through half the show looking vaguely similar to Old Gregg, with Andrew having come in from a drunken rave in tights, ladies' pumps and a blue tutu. The guy who played Toby Belch was also fantastic- perfect drunken slurring. And Hannah looked gorgeous in a men's suit too. It was hilarious.

I played Andrew Aguecheek earlier this year in my Drama preformance! :D

Hehe, it's amazing how you read Shakespeare and you can't see how it could really be that funny in performance, and then you see it and it's hilarious. He seems like such a fun role to play too.
Do you know what marks you got for it or anything?

We weren't marked, it was a dramatic society preformance for the public *.* lol! Although, I was the only one who remebered all their lines XD
He was fantastic to play :)

Wow, that souds brilliant. I never actually did a proper public performance until my uni Practical Drama exam.
I think I'd love to play Viola- just for the crossdressing. Or Toby- I loved the way he was played on Thursday.

But my brain has such a reluctance to even think about them :-(
Doesn't help that I really never connected with the Criticism and Theory module.

Ha! I so wish I had seen that production of Twelth Night. See, that is one of the things I adore about Shakespeare - the way you can see the same play about ten times and each time its totally different. There's so much room for interpretation in his plays. Normally I'm resistant to those "old greats" of literature who everybody HAS to like... but Shakespeare is amazing. Andrew Aguecheek being vaguely like Old Gregg sounds hysterical but, also, as though it would really really work! (And then they wonder why Olivia doesn't want to marry him... lol.)

Boosh Shakespeare? Now that would be one pretentious cross-over. And one I'm not entirely ruling out if I could find the right play =P

Also, Eleanor sounds like... a definite possibility! Do you like her? (As in "like", nudge nudge wink wink?) Keep us posted!! =D

Birthday fic... thank you!!!! *glows*

It was an amazing performace. Malvolio completely stole the show. And Andrew Aguecheek... XD Mark not only played him like a melodramatic fresher, but a melodramatic female fresher. His first appearance is in the tights and tutu and a multicoloured 80s wig, and in the bit where he's insisting that he wants to leave, he was piling neon-coloured feather boas and skirts and cuddly toys into a pink suitcase. I swear I saw a pink unicorn in there. And it really did work. When you think about it, Andrew and Toby (who was dressed like an indie pirate) are perfect examples of student binge drinking culture ( ... )
