Sure you can! We want people to read your story - as well as everyone else's, and not everyone will be watching this comm.

Hey!! Sorry to bother you, but I never received my assignment. It's probably my email being screwy (it really enjoys messing with me and throwing random emails into spam), but if you could resend my assignment or even send it through an LJ PM I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks!! =)
