I have to be intimidated/scared by something to love it. This is good and bad. Mostly bad. Probably not all that healthy. (Fire, boats, men, the list goes on and on.)
Ever since I handed in the Thesis, my summer has looked very much like autumn. So instead of lying around blissfully in the sun, I'm still rather pale, but considerably more relaxed than a month ago. Yay! So I'm fine, still putting off job hunting for a few more days, and reading Harry Potter and thinking about sewing projects (too lazy even to start them!).
How have you managed to afford to work on your thesis for so long? Did you take out a lot of loans? Scholarship? Money from parents? From what I recall, I don't remember hearing about any sort of part-time job, so I'm just wondering how you paid your bills for the last year.
It was a combination of money I had saved up from past jobs, and money from parents (and I'm not too proud of that). I had a few very irregular part-time jobs over the last year and failed miserably at finding something more regular and well-paid. The job situation in Berlin is pretty hopeless. I can't wait to finally make enough money to pay my bills entirely by myself. (And to have a bit of extra money. I've hardly ever gone out or partied or bought things that weren't strictly necessary last year for lack of money.)
Short term (as in, the last weeks): re-gain sanity by not doing anything thesis-related, catch up on sleep. Then: prepare for oral exam in October. After that: AAAAAH! I wish I knew. I've been searching the internet for ideas / jobs / non-enslavement internships and try not to panic too much.

I've been too traumatized after some teenage hair dying experiments gone Very Wrong to try anything drastic again.
