Cue breathing.

So much is new.

I'm done with INS. I don't think all of the relief has set in, but it's beginning to. The last 10 weeks have been insane and pretty much made me inhuman. But I'm done! I rocked my physics and biology exams (not so much on the chemistry, but no one did well on that one). I went to the class party and had a decent time, making me glad to know the same cats will be in my class come September.

My wallet was stolen on Thursday evening. I noticed the next morning as I was about to pay for parking to take my chemistry final. I drove back home and logged on to my bank account to find that someone had spent over $800 Thursday night at random-ass places like Happy Teriyaki and the 5th Ave Fitness. How the fuck can someone spent $94 at Jack in the Box?! Well they did. So I spent the morning at the police station, my bank and the Department of Licensing instead of cramming for the final. Oh well... I wasn't going to do very well on it anyway. The money was refunded to my account this morning and Jack in the Box is out $94.

Tyler and I got a puppy! Her name is Roxy and she's a gorgeous 16-month-old purebred yellow lab. Tyler's step-mom is working on buying the house that Tyler and I live in so that we don't have to move (they'd eventually fix it up and resell it, but that would be much later). When that happens, we can prep our big back yard for Roxy and she can stay with us. Right now, she's living at my mom's house where she has 45 acres to run. We visit her as much as we can and I feel like it's never enough. She's a fucking great dog... as trained as she could be for being only 16 months...

And finally, I found a new job that I'm pretty excited about at a coffee stand right down the street from my house. I interviewed yesterday and was hired on the spot (yesssssssss). I've missed the life where the coffee is free and the work is easy (not to mention the tips which are the reason Id even bother with that kind of work). I'm not sure how much the average employee makes in tips there, but I've heard drive-thru espresso baristas make a good amount every day. We'll see. I start on Friday.

I also did some soul-searching and decided to give up the Health Center for next year. I don't want to constantly risk getting scabies or mono anymore, especially since I now know fully that I'm not applying to med school and don't need any more clinical hours. I nervously told my boss that I wasn't going to come back and gave her a few good reasons why (need to focus on my last year of college, don't want to do a half-assed job at the clinic, etc.) and she was totally cool about it. She gave me a big hug and that was that. What a relief! No more ear lavages! I am going to miss the venipuncture and vaccinations though... something about wielding a needle with skill made me feel accomplished.
