Happy 4th of July!

Jul 04, 2008 14:44

Not to sound patriotic or anything, but this is my first 4th outside of the US, and it's a bit strange. I keep forgetting that today is the 4th because over here it's just any other day, nothing special. So it's going to be weird not to hear fireworks going off everywhere.

So, nothing really new around here. All of my news consists of other people's news. First of all, my neighbors at the Shafsky House B&B, Rita and Stephanie, were legally married on Wednesday. My dad sent me a bazillion pics. I may post a few of the cute pics here later. I am oh so happy for them! They have been together for, gosh, over 10 years I believe. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that come November they will be able to stay legally married.

In family news, my grandma had a stroke last Friday. Thankfully she is ok (well, as ok as one can be after having a stroke). But the important part is that she can fully recover from this since it wasn't the type of stroke that causes a personality change. So by the time I'm home for Thanksgiving she should be 100% back to normal.

In random news, I finally upped our "netflix" to two movies at a time and added a whole bunch of tv shows to our rental list. Danni and I just got through season 1 of Rome and are two episodes into season 2. Other tv shows that have been added are: 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dead Like Me, Desperate Housewives, Dexter, Lost, My Name is Earl, Peep Show, Pushing Daisies, Six Feet Under, The Tudors, and Weeds. (Please note the alphabetical order is not my OCD, rather they are in alphabetical order on the Love Film list.) Now, so that it doesn't look like all Danni and I do is sit around and watch tv, I'll tell you that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON TELEVISION! We don't really watch anything, so we're going to cancel our tv license (there is no such thing as free television over here. It is soooooo stupid!) Finally, we might be going to the movies tomorrow to either see Prince Caspian or Wanted, whichever we decide on when we get there.

Finally, I just downloaded Firefox 3 because hotmail wouldn't shut up about me needing to upgrade in order for it to work properly. So I just downloaded it and have to get used to the newness.

Anyway, that's all for now!
