Something I forgot to mention, plus movie reviews

Before I forget (again), I will share an irony that I found in London: Krispy Kreme! I had no freaking clue that Krispy Kreme existed outside of America. But, now I know that is not true. Now if only Coldstone and Jamba Juice would come to England!

Now on to the movies. First is Straightheads, starring Gillian Anderson and Danny Dyer. That is one bizarre movie and leaves you wanting at the end. The plot is a basic revenge plot. Gillian's character, Alice, is raped while her male companion is beaten. She wants revenge. Dyer's character goes along unwillingly with the revenge plot, but is soon sucked in shortly before Anderson's character decides she no longer needs to kill the man who raped her. The whole film is a bit
Danni and I mostly wanted to see it because we are infatuated with Gillian Anderson. But regardless of the fact that our beloved Gillian is in Straightheads, it is not a film that I would recommend.

Next is the new(ish) Christopher Guest movie, For Your Consideration. Unlike his previous movies (Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, etc.), this is not a mocumentary. In true Christopher Guest form, however, he uses the same actors from his previous films and they all play equally rediculous characters. The film is about actors and a movie they are making called Home for Purim. Like the actors in Waiting for Guffman, these actors are not very good, but they are convinced that they will all be nominated for Oscars. Best in Show is still my favorite Christopher Guest film, but For Your Consideration is not to be missed for any Guest fan.
