My Berlinale Minutes 2012, Saturday

In "Avalon" I missed some pieces of the plot I'm afraid. I did get the broad story though - it was about an aged hippie who pretends to impersonate the lightness of being, but struggles with the aftermath of a fatal accident and is planning to cheat on the people he is doing business with.

"Formentera" is a typical German film - unpretentious with a lot to think about. I also liked what the directress told about the shooting at Formentera, how they improvised the mass scenes since they had no means at all to arrange it with extras.

"Hiver nomad" (Winter Nomads) I liked a lot. A quiet documentary about two Swiss shepherds who move a flock of 800 sheep through Switzerland during autumn and winter, also on Christmas. Luckily there is no voice-over commentary, just the two very different shepherds, their conversations and actions are shown.
