I am hard pressed to believe anything the staff claims to be true. Simply because they stuffed a note into a book and claimed that my world was gone doesn't mean that it is.

It simply mean they have a way of jerking us here from our point of origin.

It's entirely possible they are lying.

I am not asking if the staff is trustworthy or not.
I am not asking for you to just tell me "I don't believe it because X."
I am asking for fucking alternate explanations. Just saying "they brought us here" isn't really one because its kind of fucking obvious.
