[The writing is jittery, and sloppy and most definately not Sollux's. Like it was being written in the dark.]

We need help! We're in the great hall! And he's sick! I'm using his journal! Please come! I don't know what to do!

((Isabella got ahold of Sollux's journal after he got bit by a weaver :3))

>Sollux: Wake up*It had been an odd experience, not being able to sense anything. Waiting to die, really. He actually fell asleep about an hour into it. Given the types of dreams his people usually had, it appeared to be quite a restless sleep (it was just normal, as far as Sollux was concerned, really) but he at least managed to not fall off the cot. Sleeping was kind of harder without the slime, after all ( ... )

[Isabella watched as he twisted in what would seem to be nightmares of somekind. At least she hoped it was nightmares, and not the shakes from there being injury to the head. She had tried to wake him once but gave up on it and continued her own vigil of a sort. As long as he was breathing she took some hope from that.

She had been starting to doze when he heard him cursing quite clearly. With a start she woke and watched. Thank the many gods he was alive!]

You live!

[She spied his hand searching the edge of the cot he was laying in. In response she puts a reassuring hand on his shoulder ]

Lady Sycora had to leave but she will return. I am here instead, did you me to get you anything?

*He doesn't respond to her words, but freezes at the touch. He did not know what was going on, he could tell very little about where he was, and he did not feel at all comfortable being this vulnerable. So he lashes out--physically he remains still, but he uses his psionics to PUSH her away. If he were back home she'd be against the closest wall in seconds, but as it was it did little more than give her a rough shove away from him.*

...don't. Touch. Me.

*He hisses, through gritted teeth. Sollux tries to mask the panic with anger, but he can't quite manage.*

[Isabella was not in the very least expecting to be shoved roughly by invisible forces and trips and falls on her rump. She was more startled and shocked than hurt and cringes a bit at Sollux's tone.

That was the last thing she wanted to do: scare him more in an already rather frightful situation. ]

My deepest apologies. I won't do it again.

[So she stands up carefully and slowly.

She does not want to startle him again and have him use his powers on her like he had done with the spider earlier. Although, she was not going to leave either. Sycora was gone, and something could happen, she had a responsibility and she was going to keep it. An apology of sorts. If he could forgive her.

So she takes a seat a little farther from Sollux in the bed and watches and waits. ]

...what?

*He heard that! Well, kind of...he only barely heard her, but he most definitely heard something other than the voices in his head.

Sollux sits up, removes his glasses and looks blankly around the room--he can't actually see yet, but his hearing is starting to return.*

I am sorry. I did not mean to anger you and I will not make the mistake again.

[She looks up to see him take his glasses off and search the room, but his eyes did not seem to focus on any of the objects , or even upon her person.

She tilts her head curiously.]

You are in the infirmary, at the moment.

*He manages to more or less focus on her as she speaks.*

You're...that winged girl? Why am I here? Why are you here?

[There's half a beat where she is just as confused as Sollux is. Then she recovers.]

The Lady Sycora thought it best to be here, instead of remaining in the hall. We did not know if you would survive the bite. There was not much she could do, except to wait it out.

Then she had to leave to help other people and I stayed in case you woke up.

[Or in case something worse happened. She offers an apologetic smile.]

Ugh.

*He rubs his eyes. Sollux can see again, but for the moment everything is basically just blurs of colour.*

...I guess Jack isn't here after all. Uh.

*Hn*

Thanks, I guess.

It sounds like a good thing that he is not. And ...you are welcome.

[She pulls out a journal with a quill!]

I need to return these to you as well, it was how I was able to get ahold of Lady Sycora in the first place. My apologies again, I tend to leave mine in my room and could not use it.

[She holds it out, if Sollux wants to take it.]

What?

*He seems to be saying that a lot, doesn't he? Sollux still isn't quite settled in with being back in reality yet.
He peers down at the book and takes it after a moment, squinting to see it better before flipping it open.*

...you wrote in my journal.

*He's not entirely certain what to feel about that. Its his and he did not tell her she could use it, but she used it to help him and apparently it got the doctor to him.*

Yes...

[She bows her head, waiting perhaps to get shoved again? Or out of respect?]

I am sorry that it was necessary.

[Subtle subject change go! Genuinely concerned about the effects of the spider she peers at him.]

Are you feeling any better?

You should carry yours around.

*Be he lets her drop the subject otherwise, and shrugs in response to the question.*

I'm alive.

*He...doesn't sound entirely certain this is a good thing, though.*

[She nods. It was a sound idea that she hadn't thought of before. Now at least there was a use for the books besides the occasional bits of musings and curiosity.

She frowns at his assessment. That was depressing. ]

Better above, than below. Do you think you are able to walk?

[There is an open concern written on her face.]

Better what?

*Hm...he feels fine, physically at least. So he slips his glasses back on and stands up. Yep, no problems here.*

Yeah. I'm fine.

Um, better above the ground than being buried in it?

[She wasn't going to say dead. There was likely no need at all.]

I am glad to hear of it, most of a day had gone by.

[She thinks about this for a moment before standing herself. Her stomach decided to echo her thoughts.]

Are you hungry? I can not cook as well as the actual cook can, but I could fix us something if he is elsewhere?
