[sigh]

Happy 1-year, Econtra. although not by choice It's... eerie. To think I've been in one place for so long.

The weather seems to be warming a little, some of the snow is melting. It certainly isn't warm by any stretch, but it's not so bitter cold out during the day.

Aligoté, when you're not busy, can I talk to you?

You've been here a whole year?

Yeah. Must seem pretty scary to some people. You just arrived recently, right? I don't know your name yet...

Not really scary, just weird. Though I'm kinda used to this like this back home.

Kelly. Kelly Holloway.

People disappear in your world too?

Hi Kelly, I'm Jing.

Not exactly. People in my reality are called on to save the world from whatever force feels like doing so. The 'I want revenge and power' sort. It's been like that for about fifteen years I think. About every year (except oddly 2005 for some reason) I've seen quite a few odd things. Evil Space Ninjas, mutant dinosaurs, among other things.

Nice to meet you Jing.

... wow, and I thought Aquavitae was messed up.

My world may be a bit... crazy but it's still home. I'll fight to protect my friends and home, even to the death if need be.

Mind if I ask you what your world is like?

Oh, I understand how it can still be home. And I definitely understand protecting those you care about.

My world? Well, Aquavitae is... unusual. There's no real system of order there, all the places have their own laws and rulers. Some of them are good, and some are tyrants. And the customs in each place are vastly different.

There's old technology from a long time ago that mostly doesn't work anymore.

Thats good. You seem like a nice guy.

That seems rather odd, at least to me.

'Old technology'? What do you mean by that exactly?

:) Thanks!

A lot of people seemed to think that was strange. I guess most other worlds have some sort of governing body that everyone abides by. Or, is supposed to abide by. Where in Aquavitae, it's pretty much everyone for themselves.

Hmm... well, places like Bleuwari are completely made up of old technology. Machinery and types of power that aren't used anymore. In a way, my world has actually regressed because of all the trouble that these old things used to cause. There were wars and diseases that don't happen now because of people abandoning that life. But there's still evidence of it, and some of it's still usable if you know how.

You're welcome.

Thats more or less correct.

Sounds dangerous. If this technology caused wars and diseases, no wonder people abandoned that way of life.

It took them a long time before they were willing to give it up. Uhh, that's what the stories all say, anyway. I think my world's a lot less organized now... and maybe, there are different kinds of problems... but I like it!
