[While there isn't the sound of footsteps -- no competent thief would be so loud -- the out of breath voice indicates running. The voice would also indicate a level of panic usually unknown to the speaker.]
[Dean shows up a bit later. He's been looking all over the City for the rampaging horse. It helps that he's got a car to do the searching in. When he finally finds the horse, he parks the Impala, gets the flame thrower out and creeps up, trying to avoid drawing it's attention. Flame throwers are harder to use when running. Not impossible. Just harder]
[Parker's been waiting for Hardison, or Eliot. If the man with the completely stealable Chevy Impala with the V8 engine looks up, he will see Parker huddled up on a fire escape, knees pulled in tight to her chest. As Hardison said he was coming, she hasn't moved. The now live carousel horse is snorting and prancing beneath her perch, like it's willing to wait her out. She is almost frozen in fear, even if the look on her face, to an outsider, might look both overdone and slightly humourous.]

[The wood and paint takes a little while to catch. These things aren't supposed to catch on fire but when it does it goes up with a whoosh and starts eerily screaming like a real horse. Dean has to scuttle out of the way and let it do it's flailing. Pretty soon he's climbing up the fire escape to Parker's perch.]
Re: Actiondude_imbatmanSeptember 11 2010, 02:10:26 UTC
[Unfortunately Dean's not much for comforting unless he knows you well enough to comfort you. He does shoot another gout of flame at the wooden horse though in the name of getting it over quicker. Finally there's not enough left to scream or flail and chunks of wood are just flaming. He sets the flame thrower aside and casts a look over at Parker]
Re: ActionthiefparkerSeptember 11 2010, 02:14:29 UTC
[Well, at least he won't touch her. That would be bad.]
It bit me.
[She pulls up the leg of her pants -- well, they're actually Hardison's, yes she stole his pants, and there's a big nasty welt. Ever been bitten by a horse? Yeah, that bruising welt will be there for weeks.]
Re: Actionageoftheg33kSeptember 11 2010, 02:39:00 UTC
[Hardison's huffing when he shows up, arm outstretched with his device tracking. He stops abruptly when he sees the chunks of burning wood, looking around him to try to figure out what the hell happened here.
And panicking a little when he doesn't see Parker, because his device is telling him she should be right here.]
Re: ActionthiefparkerSeptember 11 2010, 02:46:22 UTC
[Parker hears his arrival, because Hardison was never as good at sneaking around as quietly as she does. Well, that's because almost no one can, but he's not even as quiet as Eliot. She releases her knees, and leans over, not through the railing, but looking through the metal grate of the fire escape floor.]
How come I'm the one that gets chased first?
I'll be there with the flame thrower in a little while.

Hey Pinocchio!
[And without waiting for the horse to turn to him, he flicks the switch on the flame thrower pouring a gout of flame out onto the horse

I don't like the screaming.
[She covers her ears.]

[Dean swings up onto the perch Parker is sitting on and crouches a bit, flame thrower still aimed downward and sighted on the flailing wooden horse]
