1. So, the heinous lavender/auburn hair is no more. I spent a good hour today soaking with Garnier Nutrisse BLACK CHERRY permanent dye #42 and it is fabulous. Faaaaabulous. It tends to look like very dark brown or auburn, but up close it appears really to be an extremely dark purple. MOST EXCELLENT. Afterwards Neva blow-dried my hair straight and again, I must stress how intensely awesome it looks. Very hip, very indie-girl chic, yet still very me. Neva and Steph are trying to talk me out of dreadlocks, and I'm not sure. I think I might experiment with it some before doing something so permanent. I really dig the novelty of straight hair, although doubtless it would get old? So we're thinking that maybe tomorrow we will stop by a salon and consult with them re: straightening (because I absolutely cannot budget time to doing my hair beyond putting it in clips. I know, I was blessed with these amazing curls, this thick, full body, such a unique colour blah blah but God musta screwed up somehow because I've got this so-called fantastic hair and all I ever wanna do with it is get it out of the way. Keeping up the mohawk was rather taxing, even though I only had to do it every few days. There is no way on earth I'm ever gonna blow-dry or straighten my own hair on a regular basis, so if I want it to be straight, it's gotta be permanent.) although it must be noted that I do think curly-haired people who straighten their hair generally look much better with their hair curling as was intended by nature. That's just a possibility, though. Now that it's all beautiful and novel I'm not so eager to sentence it to dreads. So we'll see.

2. Also, because of Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale, had to go to the mall today to buy underwear, and, as it turned out, a lot of other crap as well. I also ended up with lacy black tights for $3, an orange t-shirt with ANIMAL from the motherfuckin MUPPETS on it!!!!! from Delia's (the concept of actual Delia's stores is amusing to me. They also had happy bunny shirts and I almost got the one that said "it's all about me. deal with it." because, well, duh, but Animal is much more important than Happy Bunny although I DO enjoy him, so I'm not sad) and the creme de la creme, the hat of all hats, oh god just the best hat that ever was, from Wet Seal of all places.

My hat. You know those baseball-style caps truckers wear, with the white front and the mesh back? My hat's mesh and bill are baby pink. On the white front, barely visible because they are so light, are two baby pink doves of peace, kissing. Below, still in pink, and in script, is the word "Unity."

Honestly, Wet Seal, Broadway Mall, Long Island - I don't even CARE. It's a goddamn baby pink Unity trucker cap.

3. If you can't picture it, and I don't blame you: black cherry indieriffic straight hair + Animal shirt + Unity hat + the fact that my vaguely purple glasses frames totally go with my dark purple hair = I am so fucking hot. This shit is serious.

4. Also, today it was really really hot aside from myself and humid which was the main thing because although as a Californian I am accostomed to heat, I am NOT accostomed to humidity. Eugh. And then I did the DISHES (because it's what I do.) and it was a reeeeeally big load and it was reeeeeally hot in the kitchen and I needed a lot of hot water for the dishes and I almost died, guys. But I survived, and danced to Op Ivy as I scrubbed, and discovered that at the creaky old age of 19, Op Ivy makes me feel like a kid again (or at least a 16 year old) and YES I WORE MY UNITY HAT FOR THE SONG EVEN THOUGH I WAS GONNA DIE OF HEATSTROKE! Weeeeo. Good times.

5. It's currently pouring rain.

6. (Duffman voice) OH yeah: check it, fools. (THUNDERRRRR!) Um, on Sunday, which is Fadder's Day, there is a show (well, the same show twice, actually) that is comprised of the following. Mighty Mighty Bosstones (not a big fan, but whatev), CATCH FUCKIN 22, The Pietasters (who I have heard about for daaaays and never heard or seen but from the way others talk about 'em, they rule the school, AND! the Voodoo Glow Skullz (again, not a big fan, but a ska show is a ska show). And it's on Long Island somewhere! And I'm going, although probably alone since it is in fact Fadder's Day. Catch 22 oh boy. Also Kero tells me that Anti-Flag will be around shortly and what a lovely thing to see them for the fourth time across the country from where I saw 'em the other three times.
In conclusion: it's on, mothafucka. Punk rock, eh? Been a while.

7. Thunder like whoa. Okay bye!
