i dreamed you were caried away on the crest of a wave
this monday became my 5th day off in a row...not by choice though. it was the first day i took off work for a sick day since i broke my neck. my stomach was cramping so bad i couldn't even sit, much less stand and print. i drove to work hoping to be able to, but it was too much, so i dorve straight home and lied in bed all day.
then yesterday i woke up at 9:10 [ i'm supposed to be at work at 9 ] and freaked out, ran out the door, i made it there by 10...it wasn't a big deal, they really don't care at all, i don't even think the boss even knew.
this weekend/week has been a very productive period for me. i have made contaccts to 5 local galleries about submissions, heard back from one & sent images to them--now i'm just waiting to hear something from them, sent images to the santa fe review/competition [ one of the biggest photo contests/reviews in the country ] & a fellow photographer who comes to the lab said that he knows one of the judges and he is looking for work like mine [ art photography, as opposed to photojournalism or documentery, etc... ] and seems to think i have a really good shot of getting in. which if i get in would lead to so many good things i don't have time do describe. in addition to the previous jr is also really on my side about getting a gallery show here, and is going to talk to another photogapher on friday about giving me a show at his gallery...cross your fingers...also, the same fellow photographer as above is going to email his frieind in nyc and ask if i may send him a portfolio of my images [ which i just purchased, and am completely ready to send a portfolio out to anywhere i can...finally ] this friend is a "great guy" and knows everyone, "and if he can't help, he will know someone who will" he works for fader magazine, and jack [ the photog. guy ] seems to think they would maybe pay me to take band portraits for the magazine...but really who knows, but only good things can come from this though.
i know i'm leaving stuff out....so much has happened...i'll remember later and update again, i gotta run, can't be late for work again...
