So I was just listening to "Yall don't wanna step to dis" by Against Me! and this one line stuck out to me.

"It doesn't even turn my stomach
To see the pictures of atrocities anymore,
Going numb in the new order"

and I thought to myself "man, I've seen pictures of people that had IEDs go off in their face, people that were shot, dropped from buildings, crushed, melted, torn apart by machinery, and every horrible thing that one could ever have happen to them, and I don't even give it a second thought" So am I so desensitized to the most horrifying shit that could ever happen to anyone and it doesn't even bother me to look at it? I have never really been that squeamish, blood doesn't bother me, I can watch surgery on tv and what have. But still, I remember when people were first getting the internet, and my cousin showed me this website that had all this weird and random crap, and the first thing I clicked on was "bandsaw suicide" (even though I was warned about, which is probably why I clicked on it). So bandsaw suicide was a series of photos of a man that committed suicide with a bandsaw, I won't go into details cause no one needs to see that. But seriously, I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing that I can look at anything and everything and not even care.

War pictures are still the most gruesome though, and not the ones in the paper, the REAL ones. But even those don't bother me.
