i don't want chivalry. I detest it when guys try to carry my shit for me. Chivalry doesn't really do anything. I like equality.

unless he is willing to cook for me. that I can handle, providing I can do the dishes to alleviate my guilt.

And I don't think gender issues have anything to do with the general degeneration of politeness in the world (which, I may add, isn't that bad... most people will hold a door, say thank you, etc.)

a guy can be nice to me without having to do silly things to enhance his masculinity or make him feel self-sacrificing like open doors, give up his coat, etc.

chivalry is not just "being polite to women" it was a sense of knightly duties, so honour, keeping your word and protecting people weaker than you...and women were considered weak insignificant creatures who couldn't do simple things like open doors and carry heavy items..it was up to a big strong man to do that...your right this is a need, every woman should feel absolutely useless

also everyone is missing the major point of this entry which has nothing to do with women but more to do with the fact that everyone is rude

and the standing thing when a woman left the table only happened in wealthy homes, the woman had to take the dishes away and clean and all why would you stand for a slave?
