Quiet Little Pockets

I know it's summer--but why do people move so little here? Why don't they go outside, even just to sit in the shade?

Why are people actually watching the election coverage? How is it not melting their minds into a dark, useless mush? How is it providing them with anything positive? What happiness comes out of watching cable news?

Why are fat people riding the scooters at the grocery store, and people who are perfectly "able" parking in the handicapped spots?

Why are people here, and on TV and in the news websites, constantly complaining about the things they don't have? Why are they pointing at the wealthier person down the street and claiming, "It's not fair that he has so much! I want some of that too! Somebody give it to me! The world owes me!"

Why are so many not comfortable in their own skin? Why are they forever searching, but never doing? Are they really just waiting for someone else to provide, or do for them?

Where is widespread merriment? Where are all of the thank-goodness-for-all-I-have's?

I just hope they are occurring in quiet little pockets that I don't see enough of.
