Back from the Brink
Status update OR perpetuating the myth that I am a normal human living a normal human life. Please ignore any extraterrestrial transmissions to the contrary.
◊ I got a second job! One job + school were clearly not enough to sate me. I'm working at the local airport (thus perpetuating the aerospace theme I have going on in my life) helping some folk put together a TA-4 Skyhawk. It's about 75% office work and 25% hangar work (although the office is IN the hangar, so I guess that's 100% hangar work). More on this later. WITH PICTURES.
◊ Z-mas was mostly uneventful, as my grandparents came over (like they do), and they don't like to do anything too strenuous like "leaving the house". On the bright side, I actually got the day before and after Z-mas off and was able to spend some time with friends and family.
HUGS AND GOLD STARS TO EVERYONE WHO SENT ME BIRTHDAY WISHES AND ALSO Z-MAS CARDS! :D I found my stationary and stamps when I was cleaning the apartment, so I may actually be able to thank everyone individually. With paper.
I will spend this year thinking about the fact that I am now older than Fry was in the first season of Futurama, but younger than Sheridan was in the second season of Babylon 5. I don't actually know how old he was, but I bet it was more than 26.
◊ For New Year's Eve I coerced mko into coming down to Tucson for her college buddy's party using my sophisticated persuasion skills ("Do it do it do it do it do it do it.") I ACTUALLY SAW "ROCK BAND" FOR THE FIRST TIME EVAR. I played for one song as the lead singer and totally ruined it for everybody by sucking so bad. Rock Band is hard and a hobby I cannot afford.
Now I have leftover raspberry vodka in my fridge, and I don't know what to do with it because 1) I do not like drinking alone and 2) parties do not work in studio apartments.
◊ The day after New Year's Day I ventured south to Tombstone with mko for the first time ever, Tombstone being one of those touristy places that locals would normally not deign to visit. PICTURES ALSO TO FOLLOW, as soon as I figure out where I want to upload them.
◊ My AHCCCS coverage finally went through, and I can now get a lung scan and medication and other important things like that which certain segments of the voting block would rather I not have. \o/ Now I just need to go through my files and get my medical records in order. It will be an epic quest, and I must bring 12 of my stoutest warriors.
◊ I have started catching up on fun things like TV. FIRST: House. "Last Resort". I must download all of the music from that episode. ALL OF IT. Also, any episode that makes me feel sympathy for Thirteen is a good one. Oh, poor Thirteen. Just because you're sexy doesn't mean you don't deserve a personality. At this rate, you may have one someday!
