Just a spoon full of sugar

Thanks for all the well wishes.
All in all I had a pretty nice birthday.
Truly the best part is that I played hooky and went shopping with my mom because it wasn't even funny how badly I needed some new bras.  Mr. yuck , my love slave, got me a kick ass rain jacket and even the rain pants to match, because for some reason I don't believe in umbrellas.  I was thinking that I should become a dog walker, but only on rainy days because that would seemingly be the best way to take advantage of my new gear.  I've since gotten over that idea though.  Anyway, I'm one number up, two bras and a couple of shirts richer, ready to take on serious rain, and two very fine meals fuller.  hmmm.

Fuuuuuucccckkkkk!  I'm 27!  Jeeze.  I'm just gonna start saying I'm thirty now, just to make the transition easier.

Also I had the funniest conversation with my two year old niece that went something like this:

My sister and my niece sing happy birthday to me over the phone,
Me: wow that was great!  You have such a lovely voice, you sound like a rock star.
Niece:  Happy birfday......   Nona?  (Nona is my mom, her grandma, obviously.  And possibly her favorite person on earth, I'm sure my mother has been bribing her with heaps and heaps of ice cream, she's a pro.)
Me: no silly, it's me, Auntie Amanda.
Niece:  Nona?  (Presses a few buttons, perhaps the 2 button, or even the 4, hard to tell, heh)  Hello Nona?
Me: No, not Nona, Amanda.
Niece:  Gampa!  Where's Gampa?
Me: not Grampa, Amanda.
Niece: poppins mary?
Me: huh?
Niece: poppins may.  poppins.
Me: what?
Niece: poppins mary!  poppins!  poppins mary!  (she starts singing) ust a poon pull of tugar heps a medipin do down.
Me: ah yes it does indeed. sugar is yummy.  Big spoonfulls of it.
Niece: Hello Mamanda.  Nookie?  (Nookie is my dog)
Me: hello!
Niece: I love you.

Awwwwwww.  I'm a big old softie for her, even if she thinks I'm my dog.
