We reap what we sow.

I have finally got myself a part time job - a tutor.

And why not? I speak English well enough to teach Arabs how to speak properly.

For my first client (ever), I teach a Engineer (with a Ph.D.) who works as a Senior Manager for the water and electric company in Abu Dhabi.

I started teaching Dr. Roshy (the engineer) last Sunday, who payed me 100Dhs. for an hour of English conversation.

There was a thrill i got receiving the money outright at the end of the session. It was because i knew that i will have enough money to last me for a day or two until i get paid for the next session.

So, for my first pay, i treated myself to a nice meal at the Oriental Korner - a well-known Filipino restaurant nearby my house and had  Kinilaw, Four seasons vegetables and fried rice. It was, for the first time, i enjoyed sitting alone, having dinner, and savored each bite because, not only do i miss Filipino food, it was also well earned money and a well deserved dinner. I am happy.

Besides this, next month, i have also found me a client who wants to learn and improve his computer skills by teaching him MS Office applications.

I'm glad that English was enforced when i was growing up. And i am glad that i was taught to use the computer when i was younger. Back then, I hated my parents for forcing me to work as a data encoder for our printing press during summer time. I guess now, i owe them an apology since i am reaping the rewards of all those dreadful summer days.

In the Philippines, i busied myself with organizing gigs and watching gigs to balance work and play. Over here,  i found myself something to look forward to besides work. Of course, it is not as fun as being able to watch good bands play and being in the company of great friends. But, it is definitely something that will keep me busy.
