On this Christmas Eve....it's time for five more questions from
thefridayfive !
1. Do you celebrate the religious aspect of Christmas or the commercial aspect of Christmas?
- As the years have gone by, I think we've gone more by the commercial side. When I was younger, I was in the kids choir at my church, and more involved in my church then I am now, so it was more religious. Although now I still absolutely must got to church on Christmas Eve, definitely more commercial.
2. What's your favorite activity to celebrate the holidays?(ie. baking goodies, making ornaments etc.)
-Every year for as long as I can remember, my family has gotten together to make Christmas cookies. That is without a doubt the holidays to me because I know that this tradition is probably always going to be in my family.
3. Would you rather give or receive?
-Truthfully give. I love sending, giving, and hopefully making people smile. Even when it's not holiday time, I love sending mail out, or giving things. I like to think these feelings carry over into Christmas time.
4.What is was the gift you were most anxious to give this holiday season and who is it for? What makes it so special?
-My gift for
millionstar was the most special one for me. I was most anxious to give it to her only because it wasn't so much a funny or fun Christmas gift, but it was more a practical one which I hoped she was going to be able to get a lot of use out of before all the snow melted. This was special to me because I was SO darn excited to give it to her. It was special to me because she's my wifey, and she deserves nothing but good things in her life, and I hoped to send her some good things.
5. What is the most memorable gift you've ever gotten for Christmas? Why does it stand out compared to other ones?
-Is it bad that I can't remember? In thinking about this, the only answer that I can come up with right now, are all the fandom related goodies, or plane tickets to fan conventions that my family has ever given me. Even though my parents roll their eyes at my nerdiness, I feel like inside they embrace it, and love it a little bit. And, the Christmas gift that wasn't really a Christmas gift but it feels like it, was my college diploma/degree. Since there were days that I never thought that degree would come, it's certainly been a memorable gift and Christmas to me for that reason.
