AZ State Fair FUN!

Oct 23, 2009 22:34

I spent the day with proopstradamus at the Arizona State Fair today!! I hadn't been to the state fair in YEARS and YEARS, and Diane had never been to the AZ state fair, so we were both kind of  noobs together. As it turns out, today was a good day to go, as it was "Happy Hour" from about 12:00 to 6:00 so everything was half priced. YAY! We went to see animals, ate too much nasty but DELICIOUS fair food, rode a few rides, met a seriously drunk game operator, and I danced on top of a cement block much to the amusement, or horror, of the people around me. Basically, it was a really fun time. I'm super glad I went, because Diane, and I usually always have a good time together.

Need a few random pictures? Course you do!

The first thing we see when we walked in were the Budweiser clydesdales. I love these horses, I think they're so beautiful. Later on during the day we saw them all hooked up on their carriage, with the dalmation hanging out on top. It was kind of fantastic.

A blurry Wallaby!!! This little guy was fiesty and fantastic.

I liked this goat, just because he was kind of chillin' off by himself. He's a kick ass goat basically.

Baby pigs! These two were SO freaking cute!!

These bunnies were so pretty. I've never had a pet bunny, but if I could have, I would have taken this little guy in front. Pretty bunny!

One of the rides I remember riding on when my family went to the fair, was this ride that was simply known as "The Big Yellow Slide". I'm a big wimp when it comes to rides anyway, but fair rides freak me out. Beause unlike proper amusement park rides, these rides get transported a lot, and it kind of scares me that they're not permanantly in place. But "The Big Yellow Slide" was the one rie that I was hoping would still be there. However, I was dissapointed to see that my yellow slide was now rainbow and not very big at all. Sad sad times.

I got an airbrush tatto because that's how I roll. And when I get up enough courage to go through with it, my real tattoo will be on my wrist arm area. And besides, I think tattoos look kinda fierce there.

I tweeted from at the top of this ferris wheel, and this picture happened. Sure, it would look better if it were dark, but I still like it.

I was challenged to write a drabble about a certain two people riding in that. So this is more for my own benefit. But besides the fact that I nearly lost my camera to take this picture, I like the jumbo ferris wheel in the background.

While walking around, we discover that the fair had tea cups. We eventually find them in the kiddie section. Bot both Diane and I are game, so we go on them anyway. If you're ever been on the teacups at Disneyland, these teacups seriously kick those cups ass. These things are INSANE!!

So, after I had danced on concreate, and we were supposed to be on our way out, Diane points out this building that we hadn't been in yet. I find my favorite local candle company in the building, and we also find a man with a stand who makes custom engraved keychains/dogtags/ and different metal things. So while she ends up making a license plate frame, I decided to get an engraved keychain. And I know that this isn't funny to probably anyone but me, but it cracks me the hell up, and I can't wait to put that keychain on my keys.

No? LOLZ!
I'm totally beyond exhausted, and at the moment I am really not looking forward to getting up to teach tomorrow, but today was a lot of fun!
