More Games
So...I saw the end of FF7 the other day. Fuck that whole chocobo thing and getting the Knights of the Round materia and all that, because it seems to be physically impossible in this copy of the game. So, I just beat Sephiroth in two turns (Catastrophe-ing his ass seemed to do the trick) and watch the nice little ending video. Overall, it was a great game with a pretty good storyline. Now when I watch the FF7 Advent Children trailers, I get really excited, especially because Tifa is even cooler in them than she is in the game (DS: yeah, floatation device is a pretty accurate description of her look at the end of the game). I also discovered that the guy I thought was Sephiroth in the trailer is actually just one of the "Silver Haired Guys" who are apparently the bad guys in the movie.
I have my own theories about this. The way I see it, Sephiroth has to be behind this somehow, especially since they show a flashback of him in the movie trailer. So, I think Sephiroth is the guy in the chair under the white cloak. It would make sense, since he got practically destroyed by Cloud two years earlier. One could ask, though, how Sephiroth survived in the first place. I believe this is because Cloud never fought Sephiroth's physical body, just manifestations of his conciousness. We know he can do this because of the Sephiroth that Cloud was trailing (the one that killed Aeritshsthths) for the majority of the game.
So, the question remains, who are the Silver Haired Guys (SHGs) and how is Sephiroth back? I think it's been said that the SHGs are somehow siblings of Sephiroth. Since we can be pretty sure he never had any real siblings, I think it's safe to assume that these three are clones (after all, Hojo did make a copious amount of them). You can find more info on them, including their weapons, here. Now, since I don't think Sephiroth's body was destroyed, I'm thinking maybe the SHGs were able to salvage it from the Planet's core. This would involve going through the Life Stream and all that, and sounds like it would be rather impossible, but who knows. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
I bought Tales of Symphonia on Thursday. Got a cool lithograph and artbook with it. I haven't tried it yet, but it'll hopefully be really good. I also must buy Spiderman 2 once I can find it on sale somewhere.
Last night after work we (me, hexual, munkai, dastrikatank, Chris, Joey D, and Randy) went driving all over the place and were originally going to play frisbee in some parking lot somewhere. We somehow ended up watching the Robin Williams Live on Broadway DVD and then played Smash Bros. for a while. I left at like 5 in the morning, because I was supposed to drive my sister to work at 8:30. So, I went home, found my mom in the backyard burying our gerbil, and went to sleep. Apparently something changed overnight because my sister never woke me up to drive her. Oh well. I got a haircut at 11:30 and it's WAY too short. Dammit. The people at University Barber in Ithaca are better, and this person has been cutting my hair for around 15 years. Lame.
I'm going to get some food. Then I'll do something with some sort of entertainment value. Perhaps I'll finally watch Goodfellas because I've had it out for about 3 weeks. Also want to call some people from school.
Otakon people in my room (thedigitalsin, mulchatna, AO): Check the forum, there's a question there for you to answer. I also might end up taking a plane down instead of getting a ride because it's very cheap and a lot faster. I'll have to decide that by midnight...
