Keeping It Together

So much, for this morning, starting off on the 'right foot'. I woke up at 5:47 and climbed out of bed. I should have known, as soon as I was attacked, by that first round of pain, that the morning was doomed!
"Oh! Son of a bitch!" Yes, ladies and gentlemen...I, Michael Leach, was led to curse, first thing, this morning. In fact, those 5 little ( Read more... )

AMEN!!!

I believe when you love someone you seek to support them in things that are good for them and make them happy. That doesn't mean that you have to love to knit or crochet or sky dive - it just means that you support your loved one if they want to do anything that is legal and makes them happy.

As to being a glutton for punishment - I agree - if you are making afghans when the temperature soars - that qualifies! LOL.

Hugs, happy stitching and looking forward to seeing pics when the afghans are finished.

I need to finish it. If I don't...If I just gave up (for whatever reason), then I would be the same flake I was, before this Project. I can't allow that.

I am glad you'll make the winter jewels afghan as it's beautiful, and I hope you and your partner will work things out and they will be the delighted recipient. Maybe you can tell them you have something really special planned for them, just so they don't feel left out and jealous; that may be souring them on your projects.

As for knitting, it's great. Needles or crochet hooks are easy to take with you and use while waiting or chatting to people in a cafe; I've seen people do that. And knitting is so relaxing.

Thank you. I decided that, even though this afghan was supposed to be a gift, I need to make it, for me, as well.

Crochet hook = super cute.

I hope you and your sweetie can talk thing out. Change is inevitable and it seems to me that the hardest part of changing is trying to explain it to other people. Perhaps you should try to explain to your sweetie how you have changed and that you would like some support in your changing. Also, as much as Farmville drives you crazy, please resist the urge to make fun of it to your sweetie's face. Your sweetie thinks his sixteen by sixteen plot of non-reality is important and by making fun, it will just make your sweetie make fun of your hobbies.

I love making afghans but I hate making baby blankets. I think I might be a little wierd on the inside.

Good Luck!!!!!!

I know. I totally want that crochet hook. LOL!
I have tried, in the past, to explain all of the changes. My sweetie just turns a deaf ear. I think I was expected to not ever do anything, just for me.
And, I am same way...baby blankets bore me. Lol.
