It Has Happened!!!

This morning, I pulled myself out of bed. It was one of those mornings, where I woke up, fully rested, and yet, staying in bed seemed pretty damned tempting. The window, right at the foot of the bed, was cracked open. And, through it, the chill of the Autumn air, creeped into my room. Not at the point of freezing...It was a nice, comfortable breeze. The type that makes you want to get all nice, and toasty, under your blankets.
6:30 am. The sun was not all the way out. In fact, it had just started to rise. The sky was deep blue, with only a hint of gold. A glorious morning.
Autumn, my friends...It has officially settled in, on Winchester.
Here it is, almost 1 pm.  I have been giddy to sit down, and write in my blog, today. I wished I had the time, to, this morning. But, after having my (rushed) cup of coffee, I had to get ready, to leave the house. I had an appointment. As I went to my weekly therapy meeting, I was filled, with happy thoughts. When I got home, I would be able to write in my blog. And, what a joy that would be.
You see, my dear friends...Today, I have some WONDERFUL news.
But first...
So, since that first day, of using my Halloween Bag (when I was offered 40 big ones), I have decided to use it, whenever I have to leave the house. And, just today, this bag got quite a bit of attention. As I was walking into the building, where my therapist is, a lady took notice, of it. "That is the neatest little bag!" She looked at it, for some time, before leaving me. My therapist, too, loved it. Then, a quick trip to JoAnn's, after my appointment. Well, you can imagine the attention, my bag got there. A hand-made Halloween Bag, in a store, filled with crafty people. My bag was the friggin center of attention. (Talk about feeling good. All the compliments have lifted me up to friggin cloud 9!)
Anyway...
Yesterday was a truly wonderful day. I was perched on my bed, with my afghan. The windows were open. The air was warm, and slighly breezy. I could smell the orange trees, right outside my bedroom, and hear the fountain, in the pond.  I worked on my afghan. I hooked my way through a few panels, without a single hiccup. The yarn did not once become the Finicky Fiber that I am usually faced with. There was no fraying. There was no yarn, doing gymnastics, off my hook. The plastic tapestry needle (which I have used for weeks), didn't  break. All was good. Instead of cursing, and throwing my hooks and yarn, I was humming, and smiling, as I stitched away.
Then, at 5 pm, I stitched a fairly large blue panel, to my afghan. After doing this, I decided that it was probably a good idea, to do a size-test. You know...to see how much more, I have to do.
Well, my friends...
The giant afghan, I am glad to say, is almost done!
That's right. After close to a month and a half, I am so close to being finished, that I am completely stoked.
How close, to being finished, am I?
Well...All I have to do, is one more row! Then, edge it. That is it, my friends. This beastly afghan is soon to be just another project, under my belt. After all the whining, and stress...after all the bitching, and nail-biting rage, this afghan has put me through, its end can FINALLY be seen. Oh, rejoice. Such a happy day!
So, while out at JoAnn's, today, I made my decision. Fringe will NOT be used. Nope! I chose to go with Pomp-A-Doodle. (I know...it's such a big surprise. Yeah, right!) I picked me up a ball of black and white Pomp-A-Doodle, as well as another skein of black yarn. Now, I have all the supplies needed, to take this afghan down.
Well...I am off. I know, I know...today's entry isn't all that big. But, I have very important work, to do. My afghan won't finish itself. So, until tomorrow.
Happy crocheting!
