I.
Jinki was sitting at his desk playing with a paper plane and that was obviously not what he was supposed to be doing because he was supposed to be crunching numbers. Minho sighed and abandoned his own work and walked around the half-walls and cubicles separating them to scold him because it was his job as the head of the forth floor. He tapped the half-wall with Jinki's number - 25 - on it and tapped his foot, waiting for the elder to pay attention to him.
“Hyung...” he said a bit impatiently and Jinki looked up at him with the expression of a child who had just been caught misbehaving, Jinki laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head.
“Uh... this isn't what it looks like?” Jinki tried but neither of them knew why, it was always what it looked like whether Jinki was playing with paper planes, eating fried chicken or just staring at Minho and Minho found it all amusing - Jinki was amusing, he was interesting.
“Hyung, it's time that we had a chat about all of these occurrences after work.” Minho chuckled when Jinki's face suddenly paled. “No hyung, you're not in trouble,” the way Jinki smiled in relief was cute, he thought to himself, “It's just about time that we started getting to know each other.”
Jinki grinned, singing, “Minho ah, if you wanted a date all you had to do was ask!”
Minho, as uncharacteristically shocked as that comment had made him, sputtered a bit. Jinki just laughed, standing as a bell resounded through the office signalling that their working hours had ended and he patted Minho's shoulder. “Let's go on that date now, yeah?”
Minho wondered if he had been that obvious but grinned and walked Jinki out anyway.
II.
When Minho had met Jinki he had thought - and seen - that Jinki was an all-around nice guy. He smiled a lot, was oblivious more than half the time and he would always help a person whether they were friend or foe. But after a while of getting to know Jinki, Minho learned that Jinki had a horrible and cold bad side, it would seem that if you were on his bad side he would smile at you while you go through your misfortune, and the smile wasn't a bright or comforting one. And so as Minho got to know Jinki better - and Jinki got to know him better - Minho felt as though he were learning about two completely different people and witnessing those people share a cute body. And that was a little unnerving but Minho was sure he loved Jinki all the same.
Today was one of those days where Jinki was in a not-so-good mood. He sat at his desk, sulking and folding pieces of paper into thick, tiny squares and when Minho took him home he sat cross-legged on the couch staring at the television set that was off. Minho sighed, he hated when Jinki was like this, nothing got through to the elder. He walked over and sat himself next to Jinki quietly, waiting to see if he would acknowledge him or not. Jinki just kept staring then he slowly let himself lean to his right until he was using Minho as a pillow. Minho chuckled.
“Hyung, what's wrong?”
There was silence for a while, then, “I'm depressed.”
“Why?”
“Because... you keep calling me hyung, I want you to call me by my name,” Jinki whined.
Minho chuckled, how cute. “Jinki,” Minho grinned when Jinki suddenly perked up, “better now?”
Jinki began nodding before he stopped himself and started sulking again. “No...”
Minho poked him, “Why not?”
Jinki frowned for a bit before his face broke into that bright smile, “I want some fried chicken, I'm starving!”
All Minho could do was laugh and take Jinki out for his beloved fried chicken. Again.
