so, one of the most upsetting and gross stories to happen within the past few days is the maintenance worker getting trampled to death on "black friday" at walmart

they SHOULD be kicked out of their house (maybe not literally but something EQUALLY AS AFFLICTING) for not realizing what they were signing in the first place. this is HOUSE BUYING, not some novelty on-a-whim purchase! i did an insane amount of research when i bought my first cruddy car when i was like 24 or something. if i had actual family economics to consider then i would have made sure to understand every single clause and contractual obligations we'd be under.
and its NOT walmarts fault at all. they didn't invent black friday nor stupid mob mentality. theres just no way you can defend poor choices in house buying and idiot shopping and try to lay it banks and walmart. PPL IN GENERAL ARE DUMB.
AND, deregulation is GENERALLY a good thing! when things go well in the economy, everyone LOVES deregulation. everyone LOVES less government control and not looking like a bunch of socialists. that's been the pattern in your country for the past bazillion years! its just only when things start looking like its going to be a huge pile of shit for the next few decades do ppl all of a sudden decide OH NO WE NOW NEED REGULATION AND NEED TO BE BABIE'D!!!!
god lam, when did you turn into such a weirdo who does shortcuts to thinking?
first, walmart KNOWS how black friday works- they needed to ensure the safety of their employees and their customers. they encourage this hysteria by opening their doors at like 5 am and only having limited items in stock so that people duke it out. it isnt safe- OBVIOUSLY as this wasnt the only incident this year (NOR EVER). if you are going to use this logic, why have security at sporting events- people should be responsible there too, right? why have security at rock shows? starbucks hires private security when they give away free coffee for fuck's sake because they KNOW they will get mass amounts of people wanting to be first in line. while i hate to laud starbucks, it is an okay move by them.
to that end, those people should have NEVER gotten those loans. i said the people bear some responsibilty but not ALL. certainly not enough to kick them out of their homes. why hold them responsible and not the bank who gave them a loan they KNEW would probably go bad?
your dereguation/regulation rant is totally unsubtantiated and without a bit of fact. it is only when the economy does poorly that people finally realize that this silly invisible hand / the market will save us mentality doesnt work. when things, through regulation, begin to work, it takes a deregulator, to undo (in my opinion) the progress.
