TFA: Garbage In; Garbage Out.

OMG. Weird Al is awesome. Weird Al as an Autobot is just epic. There were so many freaking references to the 1980's movie that I spent the entire episode doing weird 'squee-ing' motions. Spike and Carleigh made another cameo, this time Carleigh was going to have a baby, and since Daniel has made many appearances,  can assume it's not him she's having.

Episode Synopsis:

This episode starts off with a news report of Detroit's Trash-bots malfunctioning and Garbage is building up all over the city.  We cut to Optimus Prime doing the dirty work, hauling bags and bags of rubbish to a barge while the other Autobots unload it onto said barge. Ratchet goes to dump some more rubbish onto the barge with his magnetic abilities and picks up and Old Man's car.  Thus ensuring an argument between Old Bot and Old Man. Ratchet then dumps the car into the water. Fanzone shows up just in time and scold both Ratchet and Man and assuring the Old man that the city would cover the cost of the damage to his car.   At which point Optimus comments that Ratchet could stand to be more polite to people and that someone should set him an example. Ratchet retorts, claiming his manners are just fine. Meanwhile Sari and Bumblebee are snickering about it and get volunteered by the rest of the Autobots to help with Ratchet's manners. The others take off back to the base, leaving Ratchet to pick up Sari. Sari is to busy talking to Ratchet to notice her key is glowing.

Back at Sumdac tower Acting chairman Powell is trying to figure out the garbage problem, without fixing the malfunctioning Trash-bots. His lab techs have used the Nanobots that created the huge Bug monster (S1 - E1) to shrink the pile of rubbish they have in front of them. The lab tech then comments that using the nanobots would cost a fraction of the price to produce than the price of manufacturing the Trash-bots. Greedily Powell suggests a demonstration to the mayor and orders the nanobots be transported to the demonstration site. Meanwhile, Ratchet, Sari and Bumblebee are heading back to base when a Man runs onto the road asking that Ratchet, being an emergency vehicle, transport his pregnant wife, who is in labor, to a hospital.  Sari bullies him into it, and asks that he try and keep the pregnant woman calm. Ratchet, not used to Human reproductive processes, demands why he should even bother trying to calm her down and rockets off down the road.

Out of the pile of Garbage surfaces Wreck-gar. And he is totally confused about who and what he is. So he decides go in search of himself and soon mets the Angry Archer (last seen season 1 episode 2 or 3) who shortens his name to Wreck-Gar and attempts to teach him about stealing from the rich and giving to themselves. Angry Archer shows Wreck-Gar some rings and jewels as an aid to his lesson plan, Wreck-Gar swipes the jewel and sticks them into his back. Angry Archer demands his jewels back, and Wreck-Gar attempts to give him Spools (of thread) and other objects that sound similar to 'jewels'. An Armored vehicle speeds past and Angry Archer decides that it would make a perfect practice target for Wreck-Gar.

Rubbish has made finding a hospital a very hard task, making it a near impossible one for Ratchet who probably has no idea what a hospital looks like. Suddenly Wreck-Gar comes out of left field chasing the armored vehicle, with Angry Archer in his back. Wreck-Gar knocks the armored car for six, breaking open it and knocking out the canister of garbage eating nanobots.Wreck-Gar stashes the canister in his back. The mess Wreck-gar has created forces Bumblebee and Ratchet to transform, Ratchet spitting out Spike and his wife indignantly.  After a quick fight (involving a chase after Angry Archer) Ratchet yells at Wreck-Gar, who has decided he's an Autobot, saying that all Wreck-gar is good for is garbage and that he'll never be an Autobot. Understandably upset, Wreck-Gar transforms into a garbage truck and states that he'll bring garbage to the people and takes off. Grumpily, Ratchet turns to the humans offering to take them to the hospital. Spike states that he and Carleigh will catch a cab instead. Ratchet huffs about a lack of a thank you from them.

Meanwhile Megatron has picked up on Wreck-gar's Allspark energy and sends Lugnut after the fragment.
Powell shows up at the accident scene, deploring the loss of the nanobot canister. Bumblebee comments that he has an idea who has the canister. Sari reminds 'bee that Powell kicked her out of home and asks why they should help him. Ratchet says that the now Allspark infused nanobots could cause severe damage and that is why they have to help out.
Across town, Wreck-Gar is bringing garbage to the people by leaving a huge wake of it after his vehicle mode. Lugnut flying above spots him and lands in an airport that is obviously Wreck-gar's next destination. Lugnut pops into robot mode and confronts the garbage truck, demanding that the human driver hand over the Allspark fragment. Wreck-Gar transforms, much to Lugnut's surprise, and says that he's not human. Lugnut them demands to know if he was an Autobot to which Wreck-Gar replies with what Ratchet yelled at him, causing Lugnut to assume that Wreck-Gar was a loyal Decepticon. Wreck-Gar adopts the 'con symbol and copies what Lugnut says and does.

Ratchet, Bumblebee and Sari have followed the trail of rubbish to the airport to confront Wreck-Gar. 'Bee asks for the nanobots back. Lugnut pops back into robot mode and begins to berate the Autobots and orders Wreck-Gar to attack. Wreck-Gar asks what kind of tack he should use, Thumb tacks or Hard tacks. At which point Wreck-Gar references the 80's movie, using the universal greeting and the name of the Junkion song ("Dare to be stupid" by Weird Al himself). Lugnut transforms his hand into the explosive punch. Wreck-Gar presses it for some reason, causing Ratchet, Sari and 'Bee to run away. Lugnut transforms into plane mode and takes off after the Autobots with Wreck-Gar clinging to his tail. Some of the nanobots drip onto his armor plating and begin to eat through it. In panic Lugnut yells at Wreck-Gar to get it off, and Wreck-Gar gets out a power drill and literally disconnects Lugnut's tail. The tail end starts dropping towards down town Detroit and the Autobots jump into action to stop the nanobots eating the city.

Waiting impatiently on the shore the mayor, his aide and a few others. Powell shows up and says that the demonstration will have to be postponed due to the sample being stolen.
Lugnut's tail has crashed onto the demonstration barge and the nanobots have begun to eat the garbage. Wreck-Gar exclaims that he is bringing the rubbish to the people. On the bridge nearby, Ratchet decides that it is he who has to fix this problem because his bad attitude is what caused it. He transforms and leaps out onto the barge and confronts Wreck-Gar. He then does something he's never done in his entire career... He apologises to Wreck-gar. Wreck-Gar seems happy with this and then resolves to help Ratchet and once again becomes an Autobot. On the shore the mayor notices that the garbage pile has decreased and offers Powell a new contract. Back on the barge Ratchet asks Wreck-Gar to clean up the nanobots and he uses his Vacuum cleaner to suck it up. But the nanobots have eaten most of the barge and the mayor retracts his offer. The nanobots have had a bad effect within Wreck-Gar's back and he falls into the water. Ratchet attempts to save him but only gets random parts with his magnetic beam.

When the barge lands on the shore, Ratchet grabs Powell, the Mayor and Aide by the backs of their shirts and yells at them to resolve the garbage problem. Powell agrees to service the Trash-bot and The mayor re-instates the contract with a bit extra. They shake hands, and Ratchet is happy that someone seems to like him, even though he's still holding them by their shirts.
Under water, Wreck-gar is stuck in the silt and mud on the river floor. He asks for help from the local fish, much like Blitzwing asked for a hand or a pelvis in Lost & Found (S1, E11).

Thoughts:

I love how CN managed to get Weird Al to voice act Wreck-Gar. While he may be annoying, I absolutely adore him. This episode has the most G1 references and little tidbits. Ratchet's grouchy-ness has only increased my love for him, I like grumpy old bots. They're so fun.

Quotes:

Wreck-Gar: "Garbage for all! Come and get your garbage! Only slightly used!"

Wreck-Gar: "I am Wreck-Gar! I am only good for one thing...GARBAGE!!!"

Lugnut: "Stasis-lock itself could not determine from your grand and glorious plan, oh wise and glorious Megatron!"
Megatron: *twitches* "JUST....Go..."

Doctor Who: The Poison Sky

I'll update this after dad and I have watched it later on this evening. The Poison Sky is part two following on from last week's The Sontaran Stratagem.

Well, last week we were left in the lurch, Atmos gassing up the entire planet, Martha being cloned and the Sontarans ready to wage war or whatever they were planning to do. This week we saw the inevitable failure of the Sontaran plan. Like the Doctor would ever have let them win, not on his Earth.

The Sontarans should never really have been interested in such an insignificant planet as Earth, we've no military threat and we'd end up being sport, something for them to exterminate on the weekends. However they devised a plan that would turn Earth's atmosphere into Clone food. They were going to turn Earth into a breeding planet, capable of producing billions of (well I would say 'little Sontarans' but they'd get insulted... and they're little in the first place) soldiers. But apparently their Clone food mixture is flamable, thus allowing the Doctor to burn it all out of the atmosphere. He then used the same technology to turn the Sontaran ship's atmosphere in to flames, thus destroying it.  And of course people then start swearing off cars and walking everywhere.

I'm more interested in next weeks episode... One wonders why the "Hand-in-a-Jar" begins to bubble and the TARDIS takes off without giving the time to drop martha off to her fiance. Well, we get a look into that other nasty aspect of the Doctor's history... Susan. Except we get to meet... Her mother... Perhaps it's something to do with Rose, since she's trying to get back...

Quotes:

The Doctor: " ...And you smell. you may as well have been wearing a shirt saying 'I'm a Clone!' "

The Doctor (Wearing gas mask): "Are you my Mummy?"
