Katrina

Well, I'm alive. That is more than I can say for my cats. I was at work for the hurricane and didn't even get wet. My car was just fine, but my apartment is on the ground floor on 16th st and Bellaire. Bellaire is the street next to the 17th st canal. Yep everything is gone. I was able to get a paddle boat twice. The first time I went the water was almost above my windows. THe second time I was able to open my door. The canoe wouldn't fit inside the door. Both times I called for the cats and heard nothing. At this point I hope they are dead and went quickly in the flood.

The water is coming down pretty fast but anything thats wood or cloth or paper is gone. If it wasn't for the cats and a few choice items I would be dancing a jig. If I had a place to move to I'll probably be able to deck it out with the money I made from this and the federal aid... maybe.

If you haven't already done so apply with FEMA and the Red Cross. They well be helping a great deal. I've been living at work and on my day off I visit my parents in Morgan City.

I hope everyone got out alright contact me by leaving email japerin13@yahoo.com

There is a bright future in New Orleans, if the state dosen't fuck it up. A decent part of the criminal element has been arrested or killed in all this and those problem areas in new orleans are probably going ot be torn down...
but now that it's all said and done... I'll have a coke. (wink)
