Hey everyone. I hope your NaNo's are going better than mine is! (I'm ridiculously far behind but I'm trying to push myself through it!)
What's your word count progress right now? Are you behind or ahead? What are your characters doing right at this moment? Have you done anything truly cruel to them yet? What scene(s) are you looking forward to

My characters are being mopey bastards. I'm working on a sequel, and the main character from the original novel only makes a few appearances--he's mostly considering whether or not to kill himself because he failed miserably in his goal the first time around, and doesn't know what to do with his life anymore.
The current protagonist is a PTSD-riddled abuse survivor/very conflicted young adult trying to adjust to normal life after he was 'rescued' from his situation, and mostly finding it alien and awful... I think the cruelest thing I've done to him so far is give him a therapist who's very alt-therapy and tried to tell him to ~communicate with the harmony of the universe~ because it is a field of love and he is like a crop of wheat whose access to the eternal spring was cut off, or something, and his internal balance is all off because of how he was raised.
Didn't go well.
My favourite scene is still from the prologue, and since I just posted it in my LJ, have a link so I can avoid mucking up the italics tags*. I'm really just looking forward to writing more crazy therapist scenes and coming up with more awful metaphors, not gonna lie.
*and sneakily muck up the link tag anyway, augh. Sorry.
