The scientists didn't get in touch last time... huh... maybe I need to ask louder...

Could I speak to one of the scientists, please!?...[ahem] It's not urgent, really. I'd just like to meet at least one of you and ask some questions ( Read more... )

scientists/sneaky group wat, still in the dark, looking for answers, the truth always prevails

...Still trying to contact them? I'll give you points for being persistent. They won't answer you, Wright.

Don't be so negative, Edgeworth. When was the last time you tried to talk to them?

When they made their own public entries.

There's another individual who could provide answers besides the scientists.

I missed those, unfortunately. Besides, I want to make sure I have their attention first.

I assume you mean John Summers?

They don't care, Wright.

No, the other somewhat annoying man that may clue us in on something useful.

How do you know that? Did they say so?

[dry] Yeah, thanks.

They have showed this in their actions countless times. It's really quite obvious.

Perhaps you should do something useful, such as assisting Franziska and I with inventory or some other task. My supply runners team could always use another hand.

If they brought us here, they had to have had some reason. If they didn't care in some way, they wouldn't have brought us here, and if they didn't care about us personally, then they wouldn't communicate with us at all, and certainly not in the way that they have. They even bring us back to life. There's got to be something there, I just... can't see what it is with the information I have.

Those things... aren't really my forte.

The theory circulating is re-population. Of course, we don't get a say in this either way. I suggest you stop wasting your time chasing a lost cause and assist with the new legal system that may be formed.

I know the theory, Edgeworth. Everyone says it. And even with little to no knowledge of the history here, it makes no sense. Among other things, if they have so much power that they bring the dead back to life, why would they need to repopulate? And by taking people from other worlds who are totally ignorant of the reason?

If you're not going to help me, then don't try to stop me. You've got yourself a place here and everyone needs to help each other, I understand, but there is a world back home that needs me too. I'm not going to give up on that.

[Pause.]

...

OBJECTION!

...You have heard of the virus that wiped out the population, correct? If that was the case, why would the scientists dare try to revive those individuals knowing full well that they could easily have caught the virus they tried so hard to avoid?

OBJECTION!

I had not heard of this virus, no. That's what I mean when I say I don't have all the information yet.

Still, it doesn't change anything. For the sake of argument, say the did bring us here for repopulation. They dropped us in a supposedly dead world, put chips in our bodies that inhibit most of us in some way- and who knows what else- also put monsters here with us, and watch us from some unknown place as we search for answers they haven't provided.

It sounds more like a game than an effort to revive a planet.

[ahem]

Objection, Miles Edgeworth...the virus was, in fact, released upon the refugees; the Scientists developed a cure.

I'm attempting to stop you from making a fool of yourself.

...Or perhaps I'm helping with it. I can never decide which one to do.
